Reading Mike's biography when I found this...

This is Mike Tyson at 13.

Are boys maturing later nowadays or is he just a testosterone monster?

black people mature way faster, but also mentally develop much less
basically like women

Blacks unironically enter puberty earlier and Asians last, whites are somewhere in the middle, but I think mike was just a genetic freak he did achieve the status of being one of the GOAT boxers in some peoples eyes

Both but more in the case for mike. He became boxing legend for a reason and it wasnt just because of his technique.

I feel women are maturing faster than men in this generation on average if anything bc of all the estrogen in everything

GENES BWOY
nowadays all they do is play video games

Almost nobody of any race looks like this at 13. He's a genetic oddity - and that's putting it mildly.

lied about his age to help with his fathers immigration from jamaica

this. mike tyson is and always will be the greatest boxer of all time. if he kept training under kevin and cus he would have never been defeated imho.

Genetic freak. Actual genetic freak not "steroids?what haha nah bro just good genes I guess" guys. Nothing to do with the T levels, tyson would stand out in any generation. Theres a rare picture of tyson with his classmates and hes already so big he looks like a teacher instead of a boy.

more like roided from age 8 because of his dad

you nailed it. he is just an unbelievably rare genetic freak. probably 1 in 100 million genetics for boxing. might get one guy like him every few decades.

I thought his dad was never in the picture?

Mike Tyson is just a genetic freak in a good way. There's been a thought for awhile that Tyson wasn't that great at boxing technique (he was still a fuckin pro) he just was insanely fast and strong and could use it to overwhelm anyone

Don’t get me wrong, I know black people do this, give their sons access to steroids in highschool, but in the case of mike I honestly just don’t know if he was legitimately a genetic freak or what. I WANT to think he was on steroids but that’s partially ego talking.

This. It's in large part due to the pressures of the environment/skills/etc needed to survive in an environment preferring the slow burn vs the fast burn pressure of maximizing the reproductive window. Basically, for "blacks" vs whites vs asians vs etc (again using broad terms) it's an evolutionary strategy tied to the R vs K selection issue among other things. The sooner you reach sexual maturity, the sooner you can start reproducing. However if you're in an enviornment that requires more long term planning and thinking (and also selects for larger cranial volumes for heat reasons, etc), then development takes longer since you can't just start spitting out kids at 13 and be successful.

As for why women universally are done earlier than men. First off the selection pressures on women are more universal due to the number of anatomical/physiological and psychological/behavioral compromises made in order to take a fetus to term, spit out a baby, and not die or have the baby die (and then being able to do this at least three times, more likely than not, half a dozen or more given infant and early childhood mortality). Since physical features will often have correlate patterns of behavior (rather by happen stance, degrading over the generations with readmixture, or by them being controlled or influenced by polymorphic/polygenetic traits), women have little physical or behavioral variation compared to their men. The second is more so an extension of the first, the pressure to maximize their window of fertility, while the other pressure being the limiting onf o their environment and their contributions to child rearing and the family unit and tribe.

Like everything, we're the products of "good enough", funny how people act like once you get to human behavior, the processes of nature no longer apply and if you're "human" you have the same potential in principle as a population (but individuals can still be fucked up, which is really the inverse of priority).

No he wasn't and isn't the GOAT. And the "but but if kevin rooney.." is one of the dumbest excuses tyson fans keep trotting out, and i say this as someone who is a huge tyson fanboy. Kevin was not a special trainer at all, evidenced by the fact that he never produced a single world champ despite the fact he kept working with fighters after Tyson's departure. Tyson fans are always asking why Tyson never talks about Rooney in any media and barely mentions him at all in his book. Reality probably is: Rooney just wasnt that important and certainly wasn't holding Tyson together, as Tyson had already started unravelling while they were working. So the idea that him keeping Rooney employed wouldve magically solved everything, is just not supported by the history.

Secondly, tyson fans, especially the generation that found out about him through youtube highlight music videos, have very selective memories. Tyson in his prime was struggling with low rent Ali imitations. He struggled with Green, Smith and Tucker, and was arguably beaten by Tillis, it was definitely a gift decision. Little things modernTyson fans are either unaware of due to only ever seeing highlights or just being selective. Tysons best wins on his resume was a fat old Holmes and a blown up LHW in Spinks. Tyson isnt even in the top 10 for all time heavyweights if anyone is being remotely honest with his resume. This is why everyone and his dog plays "wouldve couldve shouldve" with Tyson but not any other fighter. Tyson couldve stayed with a dream team and Lewis and Holyfield still wouldve had his number. If he and Foreman had met as was tried for so long, George probably wouldve KO'd him in the late rounds.

OP, you're retarded

blacks hit puberty earlier than whites, asian hit it the latest
this neoteny is sort of related to the IQ stats as well, with K-selected wolves taking longer to mature than r-selected rabbits

it honestly makes a lot of sense.

the speed and strength he had was just freakish.

go to 35 seconds into this video.....steroids, training etc maybe helped with this, but 99% of it is just being phenomenally genetically gifted.

tyson had superb technique. But the reality is he was below average height and reach for the division, mentally waned when he couldnt get his man out of there early, and was a front-runner. To reiterate, regardless of whatever "perfect dream scenario" version of Tyson people conjure up, he still probably wouldve lost to the best fighters of his generation such as holyfield and lewis. He was certainly a special and important part of boxing history, but for as many wrong reasons as the right ones. Tyson was a phenomenon, but not an ATG like fanboys routinely make out.

Not the same person

Is that a good physique for a 13 year old? Been lifting for about 4 or 5 months here

Where are you calves ?

which one are you reading and would you recommend?

>A world champion boxer was muscular at 13. Are all people now less muscular?

Inexistent, I know. They've gotten a bit better since I picked up martial arts, but they're still pretty shite.

explains the voice too.

He also didn't do strength training, just pushups and sit-ups along with boxing routines. I don't see how he could possibly have such a solid physique. When he got out of prison he looked even better. I'm guessing he added in strength training finally along with some juice

No its not, lifting without being fully developed can be very harmful for bones or muscles. Be careful user you could get injured and stop growing

What about Currys

I was already 180 cm in the picture, I'm around 184 now, so I don't worry about height too much. I also always focus on using proper technique and take things slow, so I don't think I have to worry about that. Thanks for the concern though

Stop lying nigga you look like you're 5'3
