my new favorite food is home made bread dunked in olive oil.
i hear diets high in fat vs diets high in carbs get around equal results in weight gain/loss, which i personally dont beleive since olive oil is way mroe calorie dense than carbs so it should be easier to overconsume
olive oil is healthy for you home made bread is healthy for you
why am i gaining weight? My gut says i'm having too much olive oil but when i research olive oil it only says good things about it, how healthy it is so i'm second guessing myself.
is bread and olive oil just super unhealthy for you despite what the research says or what?
You are gaining weights because you are not burning enough calories you've consumed. Yeah, home made coke is also good for you
Mason Edwards
i don't think you know what healthy means
Grayson Foster
>eats carbs and fat together >eats bread at all
Logan Hughes
You can eat high carb, you can eat high fat. Try not to do both at once.
Evan Hall
so if u eat a lot of bread (i love my home made bread) i should try to avoid fats?
Jackson Phillips
it doesn't matter if it's home made, it still has wheat, gluten, probably sugar, and still is carb-dense
Michael Watson
Eat less bread. Much less. Maybe a small piece a day.
Cameron Murphy
i rather gain 200 lbs than give up my bread

then work out more

Then be fat

The fact is, gaining or losing weight comes down to only one thing, calories. Olive oil is very high calorie Bread is somewhat high calorie If you eat more calories than your body requires, you will gain weight, if you eat less than you body requires, you will lose it. Yes, olive oil is very healthy for you, it is filled with fats that prevent stroke, heart disease and maintains cholesterol levels, but even with all that, if you eat too many calories you're going to gain weight.
Gabriel Scott
since i'd assume that people who go on high fat diets would end up gaining more weight since its easier to overconsume, i was really surprised when i read studies that say there is no difference between carbs and fats.
it makes me think that theres something in the way our body triggers hunger that moderates hunger levels based on if you have a bunch of fats or not but its pretty hard to find information out there on how hunger works
Daniel Reed
count your calories macros dont matter
Cameron Diaz
>which i personally dont beleive since olive oil is way mroe calorie dense than carbs so it should be easier to overconsume When total calorie intake is controlled, the net effect of of deficit/surplus/maintenance is the same.
You're fat because you're not controlling for calories.
Evan Morales
I mean, there is a difference in how your body uses the macros. And theres plenty of research on how insulin response and glycogen levels affect your hunger. Water fasting shows you how, once you get past the first hunger hurdle, you just stop feeling hungry
Charles Carter
The biggest problem is there is pretty much no protein in that meal. Replacing olive oil with cheese would be strict improvement.
Divide your calorie intake by 20 for a given meal. If you're not consuming more grams of protein than that number then you're strictly wasting calories and sending them to fat.
Luis Gray
>it still has wheat, gluten, probably sugar, and still is carb-dense >it still has sugar, protein, probably sugar, and is still sugar-dense Gluten is fine. Not exactly a great source of protein but it's fine.
Eli Cox
i'm not actually fat i'm a little under the threshold for being overweight. i just undid some of my weightloss
i usually have some dried meat after i eat my bread and olive oil. such a good meal, fuck
Evan Carter
>i just undid some of my weightloss Because your intake exceeded your output, not because of macro ratios. Get exercising, you dumb bigger.
Landon Cruz
W-wait.. what's wrong with bread? I find it's a good on the go meal when I throw some meat and salads in it.
I wouldn't eat it cutting, I should've mentioned I'm bulking. I always make sure I put plenty of meat into them.

Even the best home made sourdough tartine loaf contains only 2 ingredients: flour and water. Water is obviously fine but flour is made from the endosperm of the grain (invariably wheat or mostly wheat by a wide margin for the gluten) and occasionally also the bran and germ (usually only a small percentage even in "whole" wheat bread due to the relative difficulty of baking actual whole wheat bread). The endosperm is just straight sugar. The rest is just a few degrees away from being sugar. Tl;dr the problem with bread is that it's stupidly easy to consume a large excess of calories in the form of sugars.
If you're wondering what actual whole wheat bread with no additives and 100% of the wheat berry looks like. It looks like this. Try finding that in the "whole wheat" pile at your grocery store. When they say "whole wheat" what they actually mean and what it legally means is white sifted flour (endosperm) with some percentage of bran added back in. Sometimes 10% sometimes maybe 50% but it's fucking hard to actually make whole wheat bread rise, because it's hard to grind the bran enough so that it's not like a million tiny razor blades slicing up the gluten, so they don't do it.
>The endosperm is just straight sugar. Except that it's 70% starchy carbohydrate.

Frequent worrying about your health not only makes you feel like shit but influence your physical and mental health in longterm as well. Enjoy life, eat slice of bread if you want to. In the end, you are the one responsible for your life choices.
And you cook it to make it a digestible polysaccharide which is made of what?
Nicholas Taylor
it is over

>eating bread
possibly one of the worst things ever, only high fructose corn syrup and readily available sugar can compare to bread in the amount of damage caused to American public health
I like to make 50-80% whole wheat/spelt bread because it has different texture and taste which is actually really nice. I believe 100% whole rye sourdough is the best type od of bread. Tasty, lower in gluten, lower GI than other grain products, easily digestible and it’s quite fiĺi g so you are less likely to consume a lot of it.
Benjamin Young
Stop eating bread, OP. Bread is quite possibly the worst food for you. It's just empty calories. Over the years, the flour used has slowly become more bleached and refined. Whereas before it was actually healthy and nutritious. I'm no health fag, I smoke weed, do MDMA and Ketamine. But you know what I don't do? EAT BREAD.
Living in Denmark means having high quality rye bread on hand from a bakery, so I tend to prefer plain wheat bread when baking a loaf. Pretty neat to see spelt making a comeback too. It's the OG of wheat and definitely better than modern common wheat.
Fucking love limpa I still have my great grandmas recipe from Norge, I make it for my family and friends here in the states, I made it for my grandpa this last christmas before he died said it tasted just like his mom use to make
