>inb4 you don't count the bar
who the fuck says that? everyone counts the bar thats pretty universal. Most bars at normal gyms weigh 45 lbs you autist and the bar i use for squat weights 15 lbs and my bar for bench weighs 13 lbs

i don't count the bar
just to keep me motivated to star lifting more weight

My local gym is my home gym where i have a 25lb 5’ oly bb

i bet you think 2pl8s is 225lbs in youre world of delusions instead of the 90lbs it actually is

im not who you're responding too but you do realize you are lifting the bar too right?

do you also count the air pressure at ground level and the moisture level in the air for your lifts? probably cuz you’re a fuckin fag lmao

reds are 15 lbs

being this wrong

red plates are 45lbs retards. pic related
i bet this retard would try and calculate things like gravity too. just straight dumb. we dont count our bodyweight when using our body to lift the plates, so why would we count the bar that we use to lift the plates? simple as.

>counting the bar
That is why I always bench press with the ez curl bar as it allows me to lift higher weights. The bar is starting to bend though

The bar is spread out between your hands and is way easier to lift compared to the weights. Try OHP'ing a 45 pound plate compared to an empty bar and tell me how similar they weigh and how they are of equal strength

For all the newfags: Not counting the bar is a meme around these parts to fuck with people and make them insecure. Reality is, you count the 45lbs/20kg bar and the number of plates refers to the 45lbs/20kg plates on one side of the bar. So, if you're lifting 2 plates, that's 4 plates in total, meaning 180lbs in plates+45 lbs bar = 225lbs/100kg.

Either way, that should be explanatory if you've ever watched some videos of some fitness personalities who utilize bench, squats and/or deadlifts and heard them talk about how many plates they lift.

35kg.

2pl8 is 180lbs (w/o bar) or 225lbs (w/ bar)
> 90lbs
Who the fuck taught you maths?

heres this simple picture to explain it. disregard that the plates in ops photo are keey-gees

I've got a 33 lb bar. I think it's a women's Olympic bar but it's all I could find before everything closed.
I need some more 45's god dammit.

I would if it added an extra 20kg

The weight of the plates are spread evenly across the bar as well

So what would a 1p8 OHP be?

you count plates by the number *on each end* not the total number. 1plate is 1 plate on each end, 2plates is 2 plates on each end...

holy shit this guy is retarded

Standard bar weighs 45lbs.
Curl bar is roughly 25lbs.
Olympic bar is 35lbs, not sure why. Maybe so you have to put more weights on to feel good about yourself.

theres no such thing as a 1pl8 ohp, or 1pl8 on any movement. its 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, etc. multiples of 2
