Because Im new to lifting, I started doing squats a few months ago because Yas Forums swears by it, but, I am terrified of getting an injury from the clean and press. I don't know if that exercise is a mild suggestion or strongly recommend

That's not a bloody press, its a power jerk.

if you only power clean and power jerk it's pretty hard to get injured. if you fail you just literally can't get the bar up high enough and so it's just a normal failure.

a full clean and squat/split jerk is where the real fuckups can happen:
>falling back on a full clean = shattered arms
>failing a squat/split jerk = dislocated shoulder and dropping the bar on your head
