Is 23 too old to learn oly lifts without injuring yourself?

23 is too old to lift period if you have no experience. You’re basically risking joint damage entirely
realistically no
if you start lifting after your teens you effectively relegated to machine lifts since your joints are much stiffer if you've been living a sedentary lifestyle
oly lifts tax the body a lot
Only if you're literally retarded. Otherwise its fine. Don't listen to the other fags, they are fat and probably also suck cocks.
I started when I was 23. 27 now. Not amazing gains but a 230kg total
shut the fuck up lmao
Did you have any serious injuries?
How long did you have to focus on mobility before you were able to do the movements with good form?
B8
I had some knee tendinitis at the beginning but honestly it started before I even was oly lifting, probs lasted a good couple months. Now I wear knee sleeves but will occasionally wrap if squatting 160kg+
Other than that no injuries come to mind, touch wood.
I was already fairly mobile, but as for doing the movements with good form, that’s a lifelong project. My form is not perfect, but I would say I could safely do the movements fairly early on (though I’m sure my coach would not call it good form)
I would feel extremely self conscious doing a snatch without 100% proper form
Its just the right time to start dude.
Dont let these DYEL faggots talk you down
If you haven't been oly lifting, strongman training, doing gymnastics, and competing in triathlons since early childhood you just probably just get in a wheelchair now.
Who are you and why are you going board to board posting the same thing
>is 23 too old to learn to code
>is 23 too old to stop being a faggot?
Actually I’m 23 and I started oly lifting a couple months ago and I’ve learned pretty quickly. Just get an actual weightlifting coach.
You're fine, I started lifting at 24. Been doing it on and off for 2 years and I've never hurt myself. Just make sure you know what you're doing, start small, and build up to higher weights over time.
>23
Holy fuck it's over for you old man. You can't learn anything at that age. If you aren't already a ripped millionaire you might as well kill yourself, you failed life.
Yeah it is. You shouldn't be going to the gym at all anymore by that point and definitely not without your walker or mobility scooter.
You aren't too old until you're fucking dead
Yeah, that's like 22 years and 11 months too old.
Imagine being proud of 230kg total after 4 years of lifting
It's literally novice numbers one year should get you more
Yes you can. Just get a coach who knows what he is doing, dont try and learn it by yourself
This is the right attitude. The rest is cope.
He's talking about Olympic lifts you nonce
Uhhhhhhh tranny alert?
What were you doing on /cgl/?
he was on /sci/ too
Can confirm. I started at 25 and now my back and knees are fucked due to lifting.
Don’t fall for the lifting meme.
