Even if it's not 1rm your body needs to get stronger to grow
I suppose you can hit the hypertrophy range easier since you can adjust the weights precisely. But you can argue that many of the movements are unnatural and easily damaging.
I don't think that progressing slower in calisthenics is entirely negative though, since your tendons and ligaments strengthen much slower than muscles anyway. Safety first imo
Using weights you can isolate specific muscles that you can't always hit with calisthenics. You should ideally do both
Calisthenics alone aren't stressful enough for your body to adapt, and get more muscular. That's why bodybuilders lift weights.
how do I get bigger hands bros? Mine are smaller than average women or equal. ffs... everyone notices it.
holy fuck just imagine
>heya bill hows it going
>*goes in for a handshake*
>*hand latches on to his at the speed of light*
>im good how are you?
>goo-
>*CRUNCH*
>looks down at his hand mangled around his literal sausage fingers
>*FOOOOOO*
>blood spurts out of hand creating a puddle on the floor
>*snap* s- *snap*
>bill walks away with your hand not noticing he tore it off while you stand there frozen in horror a hand stub that continues to gush blood
weights - you dumb, weak faggot
The gym gives you more tools than simply doing calisthenics.
Adding free weights, machines and cables increases your exercises selection and make it easier to progressively overload.
A lot of muscles are hard to isolate with calisthenics and some are hard to even hit well at all.
When progressing at calisthenics you are limited to adding volume and putting yourself in relative mechanical disadvantage. In the gym you have the same tools plus increasing the weight.
HGH is the ONLY thing in the universe that may possibly accomplish this
combine it with strongman hand training for best results
My gf has hands almost as long as mine still dainty and girly but i'm used to small girl hands not being able to wrap around my cock and hers can.
Not funny kys
Stop watching fucking cartoons with your cartoon and reddit tier humour
Based
Progressive overload

You have to learn more difficult calisthenics progressions to actually get gains.
A full front lever row is going to be tougher than lat pulldown or barbell rows.
Gaining mass while doing calisthenics is the most depressing nothing ever. You sure can get stronger, but you actually get worse at doing calisthenics tricks, because of the cube-square law. Who the fuck has the determination to keep training something they get worse at?
There's a reason all calisthenics brah are slim twinks.
I'm going to take squats as an example.
You've mastered the basic squat in Calisthenics, right? There's two ways to make Calisthenics more difficult.
1) Add weight. Congratulations, you moved out of calisthenics and into weightlifting.
2) Do a more difficult excersize, like the pistol squat.
The pistol squat, even build-ups towards it, are difficult excersizes that require a lot of balance. Now a lack of balance would not mean "Fall the fuck over.", lack of balance could also mean tracking your knee inwards and destroying your ligaments. I'll stick to adding weights.
Gym moves are not unnatural. Read the fucking sticky, at least read SS. Do fucking Compound lifts, faggot.
Yeah brah, lifting a weight on your back is totally more "unnatural" than folding into a pretzel and standing on your wrists rofl
based but also cringe
sorry bros, but based arab confirmed it
medium.com
And here based Arab argues for compound lifts.
Also based Arab is apparently posts to Medium. Make of that what you will.
You dumbass, he was praising The Press (trademark registered) as opposed to bench pressing.
And free weights as opposed to machines, not fucking cuckisthenics.
>this dudes pinky is bigger than 40% of Yas Forumsizen dicks
Amazing
I'm doing pull ups and push ups near daily at the moment. Progressive overload is just upping the volume. Maybe it's because it's the first time I've hit muscles so consistently, but I'm seeing lovely lean gains
Calistenthics work just as well as weights to a point. However, once you reach your peak doing bodyweight exercises, the only way to push past it is the increase intensity. The most effective way to do that is to add more weight.
Because when you lift weights, the heavier you get, the easier it is. So your body has an incentive to increase its muscle mass. If you become heavier while doing calisthenics, you will have a harder time doing them. Period, doesn't matter if you are muscular or not. A 100 kg muscular man will have a harder time doing bodyweight pull ups, while a 70 kg wont.
That's oversimplified tho.
or harder progressions
it's way easier to add weight than moving to the next progression though.
