>go to sleep >heart starts racing, whole body shakes bcs of it >dizzyness and feeling like my vision is spinning >finally manage to fall asleep >wake up in panic, heart racing, vision flashing >feels like Im not in my own body
wtf bros, I dont want to go to sleep if I have to keep dealing with this. I just need my 8 hours, whats wrong with me?
I have had almost constant anxiety abt minor things throughout my life. Its better now than before but this keeps happening here and there
Andrew Thomas
this has been happening to me too since a few days, is it stress thats causing it, because i suffer from anxiety.
Blake Martin
yup, i have panic and anxiety disorder and because im in bed i can hear my heart rate and that automatically gives me high heart rate and then i get warm and then the anxious thoughts kick in and BOOM, recipe of disaster for insomnia
Carson Hall
any idea how to tackle this issue?
Joshua Thomas
well before that, do you have GAD and or panic attacks throughout the day? or just when you're falling asleep?
Ryder Robinson
>im in bed i can hear my heart rate and that automatically gives me high heart rate Does it actually start beating faster or are you just imagining that it does as soon as you become conscious of your heart rate?
Oliver Mitchell
lol
David Kelly
both, i would count my heart beat for years and even ended up calling the ambulance because i was too worried about my heart rate. i would listen to it even if it was normal, OR it would just go higher when not noticing but that maybe because i associate bed time with anxiety, since i get those symptoms during it.
James Collins
A clear case of literally shaking right now syndrome
Adam Reed
as of late, its generally only when im fally asleep although in the past it was the opposite; i had them normally but never when going to sleep. yesterday i woke up in the middle of the night twice with a very high heart rate and numb arms, its also possible bad sleeping posture cuts off my circulation but im not sure since im so dizzy when i get up.
Bentley Smith
I'm gonna tell you something that basically nobody ever talks about when it's about dealing with anxiety.
You have anxiety for a reason. I can guarantee that there are a million little things that go slightly wrong in your life that you push aside and don't tackle because this is how you learned to deal with things.
Fix everything thats going wrong with your life, and do some serious introspection. For example, when you feel negative thoughts creeping in, DONT try to think about something else, like you are used to. Embrace the negative thoughts, and analyze why you are having them.
Don't ever run away from your problems. Once you learned how to deal with them constructively, you will feel calm, forever.
Robert Fisher
So its like, you go to bed, -> then you notice your heart rate, -> then you feel its uncomfortable to listen to it, -> and that discomfort starts the process of worrying -> then you worry and it makes the heart go faster?
So if you could intercept the process at the between noticing it and start worrying you'd be good? Because it starts beating faster once you start obsessing about it yeah?
Joseph Ramirez
>wtf bros lol, i literally woke up like this an hour ago. how old are you? it's only going to get worse.
Caleb Parker
sounds like a type of depersonalization, or generalized anxiety. i think you need to chill out or do what says and fix what is giving you this panic
Cooper Wood
it's possible you're malnourished. low on minerals etc
probably reading too many scary news about the virus, even if you don't believe in them consciously they fuck up your unconscious mind and make you fire up at night when you relax your grip on your mind
Carter Barnes
That is true though.
Lucas Robinson
get some bloodwork done, etc
to a certain extend yeah, but the more disturbing once are when i just have high heart rate/palpitations without even trying to focus on em, and that sucks. as of late i can comfortably sleep, but it varies in cycles. 1.5 week ago i had to take 20mg oxazepam because i was awake till 9am
Christopher Young
How is this even possible? Its like his muscle insertions completely changed.
Matthew Lopez
thats a panic/anxiety attack user. next time just try to breath in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, out for 8 seconds and repeat until youre able to calm yourself down. start a daily 10 min stretching routine and 10 min of meditation a day.
i started getting this shit when i smoked about 2 years ago. (have since quite because it would happen EVERY TIME) it sucks. if youve got anything hovering on your mind or anything you need to get off your chest then just let it out. its all good user, we're all gonna make it.
Jayden Roberts
he stopped drinking water for 6 hours, leaned into the camera, raised his shoulders and flexed, the pics are probably taken the same day or week
It's a panic attack. Probably set off by a bunch of shit weighing on your mind, and potentially cold temps when sleeping or a sugar crash that gets exacerbated.
Try this out for tomorrow: don't have caffeine after midday. about an hour before going to bed, have some gatorade or slightly sugary item of choice. eat a biscuit or piece of bread with this (light carbohydrate). Then, take a benadryl/diphenhydramine (25mg if you are not on other medications). the purpose of the diphenhydramine is that it acts as a poor man's anxiety suppressor (histamine suppression causes this). chill on the computer (not reading news) doing whatever, like normal. after that hour, go to bed, and use an extra blanket.
Have a great rest, fren. you don't have to do this every night. but it will make your body subconsciously realize that it is just a panic attack/GAD (generalized anxiety disorder). you can then stop with the benadryl after a few nights if you are still sleeping fine.
Whenever I had anxiety or depression, it would always be something external to me. A job I didn't want to go to. A person that was fucking me up. A habit I was doing, something in my life that just felt like a knife stuck on my side, always bleeding, all day, everyday.
As soon as I had the courage to discover what it was and tell the truth, I would feel better. That included hurtful confrontations and change, but it worked 10/10 times. Now I'm much, MUCH better than years ago because of this.
Logan Myers
Kidney deficiency because of the whole fear thing. Spleen deficiency because of the OCD (counting your heartbeats wtf). Heart problems because not being able to sleep.
Fix for all 3: See a good (!) TCM practitioner and fix your fucking diet and stop listening to Yas Forums after this post.
Smoking is warming and drying (hence used for weight loss), and if you are already a pretty dry guy, body-wise, it may lead to problems. If you are a fatso with lots of phlegms, water and coldness, smoking will not hurt you though. At least acc to TCM.
Ryan Cruz
I was in the same boat as OP
Insane sleep anxiety had stressful shit going on like my best friend always trying to kill him self and shit work hours etc
I moved away from him blocked him out forever and now I have had much much better sleep
Matthew Taylor
This is going to look really goofy but youtube.com/watch?v=YeM2yhULSVM always helped me during a panic attack. Also look into blood sugar problems because they can also mimic anxiety disorders but it's actually a metabolic problem.
Grayson Sanders
Sounds like me when I have severe panic attacks.
I know its kind of a meme, but try meditation, user. It actually helps. Alternatively seek professional help if you can't handle the anxiety yourself.
