I've heard that mewing doesn't help with an overbite, and actually makes the problem worse. Mewing only helps if you have a normal bite and want to widen your jaw

Mewing is cope. I've been doing it since I was 15. I'm 19 now and my chin and jaw is mostly the same expect bigger because of puberty changes.

Half the mewing changes you see online are either a loss of body fat or a teen's lower third becoming bigger which happens naturally anyways.
