I need serious help guys. I'm trying to lose weight since i'm literally 220 lbs which is not normal for a girl. I've always had problems with being motivated or determined to lose weight. I'll think "Today is the day I stop eating unhealthy foods" and the next thing I know i'm stuffing myself with donuts with not a care in the world. And each time I try to scold myself I just think "ohh woopsie a little relapse, i can do better tomorrow :)" but no. I won't be able to do better tomorrow. How the hecc do I motivate myself? and no, saying that i'll probably die from obesity won't work because I don't care if I die.

Motivation is not something you can gain. You either got it or you dont.

It isn't motivation that makes you do it, it's discipline. That's where people get it wrong, you motivate yourself to get disciplined then the discipline forces you to do what you know you should do. Just stop eating, I was fat and that's what I did. Eat a deficit and go do some light bodyweight stuff. It's not hard. How tall are you?

I used to struggle with the same thought process myself.
After many failed attempts I realized that if I don't commit nothing will ever change, ever at all.
I don't want to be a doughy loser for the rest of my life.
I want to look good with my clothes off.
I want those things more than I want the momentary satisfaction of unhealthy food.

Also motivation is impermanent.
You NEED to build discipline.
Many people check out right there with that piece of advice.
It's fucking hhaaaarrrrdd, but you have to.
You will get used to it day by day.

The following point are important or you will not make progress.
You need to count calories.
Calories are the absolute most important factor in weight loss/gain.
You can eat most anything as long as it fits within your calorie goal.
Exercise will help.
Just go for a half hour (full hour if you can) walk everyday.
That's enough.
And a little tidbit, when you crave something you shouldn't eat, have a healthy meal instead.
Once you're not hungry anymore the craving is completely gone.
Hunger makes cravings seem much stronger.

Yas Forums can be a very spartan place for advice and encouragement
you'll be told to read the sticky often if you ask noob questions
and it can be a little hard to digest for beginners

Remember that for every kilogram of your body, there's a guy that would rather fuck a tranny than you. You have the power to change that.

I got some advice from an ex smoker that really worked for me. He quit by hating it. He realized that he hated the smell, he hated the expense, he hated the stigma, everything. Then, he just let the disgust overpower the addiction.

The same thing worked for me. It seems like a small thing, but the jiggle feeling on my belly pisses me off to no end. The more I concentrate on it, the angrier I get, and that really drives me through temptations.

Like, half a year of saying no to great food. And lifting for strength. Technique and strength, then when you get skinny, you can work on definition muscles.

Two years man. I'm not trying to be a cunt but find a gym with classes. The best thing you can do to motivate yourself is not rely on yourself to motivate....yourself.

Get some buddy's at the class, make them matter enough and you'll manage just fine.

If you don't have the motivation to loss weight then put yourself in a situation where you can ONLY loss weight. Be at least 20 to 30 miles away from civilization. Only drink the minimum amount of water and eat the minimum amount of food necessary to survive.

its all about how much willpower you have and how much it really means to you, if getting thin means more to you than sating your hunger—you'll lose weight

my advice? fast for 5 days, after 3 days without calories your body starts to burn fat, let that hunger feeling in your stomach be your sign of progress

otherwise, you're fucked, if you survive the 5 days, then do the alternative fasting diet and exercise

Make a plan for yourself. Step on the scale. Then go look for the /fat/ thread. Figure out your TDEE and base metabolism with the tools there. I like scooby's better than rabbit, but you know, pick whatever.

Then plan your weight loss and VISUALIZE how you're going to look in a month, two months, three months. Realize that you're just wasting your time by postponing your weight loss, and the more time you take the harder it will be.

Realize, too, that you will be on a CICO diet for one or two years. It's okay. The slower you lose the weight, the less loose skin you will have. You're female so you have an advantage there. Good luck.

if you can start with keto or low-carb that will help you a lot, since basically what keto or low carb do is that they stop the hunger. If you keep consuming sugars you will have a much harder time.

I forgot to say this is a really bad time to lose weight in the sense that being on a diet makes time feel so much longer. On the other hand it's an excellent time to lose weight because since you can't go outside a lot of natural temptations (eating out, parties, bars, food carts etc) are out of the question.
