turns out her mother was training for an ultra marathon and we did a 15 mile 'hike' in like 3 hours which was basically a trail run and not a hike at all. I didn't want to puss out but afterwards I literally couldn't walk straight for a couple days with hamstring pulls.

Women love to claim they're into the outdoors and hiking but when it comes down to it, most hate it after about a mile, maybe two if there's a good Instagram photo opportunity.

This so much. When I met my current GF she was “outdoorsy” which really means “I like to have picture of me with a nice background”. You just need to learn not to expect much from women.

Remarkably similar as me. Took a 25 year old qt (i'm a boomer) on a 4 hrs hike. She stopped every 100m to take a selfie. One time I told her we were not stopping again. She ghosted me after.

How do you find hiking partners. I want to climb Mt Washington soon but hiking alone there with the weather is usually a bad decision, even in the springtime. Plus I'd rather just have someone else to talk with.

Mt Washington in New Hampshire. I'm from the Northeast so I guess I assume other people know it. tallest peak in the northeast us at least.
