Count calories, all of them.
Calculate your TDEE at sedentary
Buy scales, be accurate in your measurements
Learn how to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 1g per lb of goal body weight.
Do cardio. Even if its just walking, cardio will improve your health which is sorely needed. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can off set the risks.
Lift weights. This will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat. You don't want this.
Post your height/weight/screenshot of MFP/Cronometer food log when asking for advice

Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of calorie count
Eat processed foods, or at least try to avoid if possible
Drink your calories. Alcohol, soda, hot chocolate, fancy starbucks shit. forget it.
Freak out over a stall in weight loss. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself.
Be a retard.

How do I deal with the hunger throughout the day without consuming caffeine?

Somehow survived 2 birthdays in the family back-to-back without resetting my progress too much. At least I'm finally under 90kg. Next stop: 85kg, when I'll finally get from obese to overweight BMI.

If a lifting day oatmeal, half serving peanut butter and Greek yogurt. Non lifting day either one yogurt or 2 eggs or nothing.
>lunch
Something small like a Greek yogurt but usually nothing
>dinner
Ramen packet (about 450 calories)
Meat (0.5lb-1lb of either ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey— bout 800-1000 calories)
If chicken/turkey I’ll have 1-2 eggs with it


Cardio daily in the form of walking on lift days and running on non lift days.


It may sound retarded but this is what works for me. I’ve done it before. I don’t recommend eating cup ramen every day to anyone, it’s just ridiculously simple and low effort for big results. Just wanted to know how anyone would change or critique it out of curiosity

How do you guys keep yourselves from eating too much? My GF/roomies have all kinds of snacks/junkfood/fast food all the time and it's too tempting. I can keep myself going well for a day or two then break down and eat too much again.

I have a terribly unhealthy relationship with food but I can't figure out how to beat it. I'm almost 32 and haven't been below 200 since I was in my teens.

I just don't buy food I can't eat. Sounds like the girlfriend is a gains goblin. Either break up with her and stick through it or get so fat she breaks up with you so you can lose weight.

It would be a lot easier if you convinced her to diet with you.

But who wants to come home to an empty place vs knowing you have someone waiting on you?
fasting is harder to do during this quarantine with working from home being more boring than just being at work.
She's not fat yet but in 10 more years she probably will be.

Imagine the fat panic if corona shut down the fast food places

You have to make it a habit to not overeat.
The beginning is a real struggle but after a week or two it gets significantly easier.
Also keep your goals in mind. Is it really worth it to feel good for a couple of minutes a day but be miserable for the rest of ity?
