Weighted Chin Ups or Weighted Pull-Ups?

Weighted Chin Ups or Weighted Pull-Ups?

Which one would be the best overall (for at least 6 to 8 reps)? Considering that i do rows and curls in the same workout.

literally doesn't matter. Pointless discussion. Do the one you want. Do the one that feels best. Alternate between them dosnt fucking matter

i just do both desu

in the same workout? How? i couldnt do a 30kg 5x5 weighted chin ups after some sets of pull ups

I asked because i can lift more weight on chin ups then pull ups, maybe i should only do chin ups because i can lift more weight?

This have been addressed fuckton of times you cunt.
Chin ups if you want to favour biceps.
Pulls if you want to favour lats.
So the obvious answer is pulls, unless you are a faggot, which may be your case.

i'm doing 25 lb each 5x5 with no issues so far, quick rest, full ROM and everything. Still ramping up the weight and figuring out whatmy max sets should stay at

I heard that you don't need to do chin ups if you isolate your biceps

I think you should do both variations or change them up on a monthly basis to avoid overuse injuries. You'll also be lifting for many many years so i doubt you'll be sticking to either one. But as long as you are doing overhead pulling the variation dosnt really matter.

I agree with this, switch them up.

alternate between them every week dumbass

Medieval armor wide mixed grip pull up

Are you doing regular bicep curls? If so, then you should not do chinups. Do Pullups because that will hit your brachioradialis muscle very well.

>can only do 5 almost full motion pullups(not going all the way down)
when will I start to see gains? I really want to be able to do 10x3 full motion pullups by summer

I can do 6 full motion chin ups

Wrong retard
Chin ups get a better contraction than pullups in lats

>literally just do whatever you want at the gym. Everything is equal and all that matters is what makes you happy

Why curl if you can do chin ups though?

just do weighted gymnastic rings chin ups -- the perfect compromise !

Every workout alternate between 5x5 and 3x12, swap pullups and chins each time. Best of all worlds and the gains are insane. That being said, pullups are without a doubt a better back builder. I only do chins so I don't need to be arsed with curls. You can even target your traps with behind the neck Pullups. My backs getting yolked in quarantine

The only fag here is you. Chin ups also heavily activate the lats.

show us the yolk post pics

pls respond, or else I will be a faggot and make a new thread

If you keep doing them you'll reach your goal by June most likely, just don't be a faggot and keep training

Chin ups are a better overall exercise, they use more muscle mass. There.
People always say shit like "pull ups use more lats chin ups use more biceps". This is wrong, and people are being idiots and misunderstanding. Chin ups involve the biceps more COMPARED TO PULL UPS. They do not "favor" biceps or use more biceps than they do lats. Do people really think your biceps are doing most of the work when you do a chin up? That's really stupid.
Think about it like this: Chins are the equivalent of a standard deadlift. Pull ups are the equivalent of a Romanian deadlift. They're very similar movements but the former is a better overall exercise. It's "easier" if you do them with the same weight--but you can probably do deadlifts and chin ups with more added weight than you can with Romanians and pull ups.
All of this is only about strength and overall fitness, if you're after some aesthetic goal then who knows, I don't give a shit "back widening" anyway.

There's a lot of carryover. I focused on chin ups and weighted chin ups for a while and barely did any pull ups. Then I tried doing as many pull ups as I could once and I could bang out ten after never really getting beyond five or six. So if you just go hard on chin ups for a while, since you are better at them with better range of motion and form, you might improve your pull ups automatically.

I found that weighted chin ups put too much strain on my brachialis tendons, while pull ups feel fine .

pull ups do work the posterior muscles more compared to chins
