Any training suggestions for boxers?

Hi Yas Forums Ive been forced into a boxing match with a physically superior alpha male at my school while i am around 5 6 and 172 lbs most of those lbs being fat. my opponent is a near olympian level swimmer who has a six pack and large muscles from what i have seen. I used to lift weights for a few months last year before i got lazy and stopped. do you guys have any suggestion on how to train specifically to enhance ones boxing abilities like hard punch/ fast feet explosive movment. or if any boxers would like to share how they train. thank you!

Yeah, I was also forced to fight a track runner which is why I lifted a year ago. It was pretty anti climactic because he didnt train and under estimated me, so the match lasted around 20 seconds. Pic related is me knocking the fuck out of him.

The match is still going to happen regardless of quarantine or not, the fight announcement was made after my last fight around August of last year

get decent (above untrained) in lifting. get good at calisthenics. punch the bag, shadowbox, have nuts and be aggressive, don't be too cerebral, just beat the shit out of the other guy.
being cerebral comes later when you actually get somewhat good

I shadow box with heavy gloves training endurance, keeping my hands up and always staying mobile. I'm more concerned about the immense strength and stamina difference though, because I think that i can out box him maybe. Was wondering the optimal lifts for boxers, if they even exist

Master the dempsey roll and use it non-stop on your opponent
Block punches with your face

Seen both of them, havent finished ippo though. I'm also considering posting the full fight here for you guys to analyze. but I'm not sure if it's the best idea

Drill defense. Prioritize technique over punching hard, because if you get bad habits you may never lose them. Drill defense. Work your jab. Drill defense

That's not how this works. Either stay in the match and get humbled, or literally just say you don't want to and don't come. It's that fucking easy. Five months is not enough time to whip yourself into proper shape or properly learn boxing. You might make a little progress with the basics but for the most part your fucked.

If you really, really want to do this for some retarded reason just focus on the basics 100%. Learn how to punch properly, do a lot of roadwork, and rely on basics. Don't go out throwing hook after hook or try and score a super cool uppercut. Just punch him, learn proper defense, and make it out okay.

No fight is impossible, just don't be retarded and don't half-ass anything. May punchers luck be with you dumbass-user.

And for a teenage slap fight (with gloves on) just keep doing what you're doing: flailing straight shots nonstop while walking forward. If you win I'll take you out for ice cream.

Never heard of him, but I used to box on the amateur usa circuit. I was nothing special but punching power is all about "popping off the shoulder" and driving through with your hips when you make contact.
Also, you really shouldn't fight anyone who hasn't signed a waiver.

the training going into this fight was mainly working on confidence and the ability to not flinch/ look away and step in/pivot when i punch. i had weight over him and he was a track runner so i knew i had to end the fight early. The technical training that I did do however went completely out the window when the fight began. im not sure how to describe it but sparring and a real fight are completely different mentally and i couldnt think. as soon as i got punched in the face something just flicked on and i just started punching as hard as i could. i must stress that i look retarded but when in a "real fight" its a completely different experience than sparring, you cant just think or strategize at that point, its just muscle memory and instincts

Yeah I train in a boxing gym where there's abundant equipment around to use. If you haven't learned the basics of boxing in a gym first, you can't train yourself by yourself.

i did dumbbell bench which was around 40-45 before i stopped, i squat with a 45 on each side. 25 ish for bicep curl i think? it was a while ago so not to osure
