What's the deal with creatine? Should you drop it? Can you even hold onto it without eating carbs anyway?
/fast/ - Angus Edition
What is fasting?
>A period of time where you don't consume ANY calories
What is the shortest time I can fast?
>16:8. A 16 hour fast and 8 hour eating window per day
What is the longest time I can fast?
>You can fast as long as you have more than 8% body fat and supplement correctly
How do I supplement correctly?
>Get enough minerals. Mainly sodium and potassium
Where do I get sodium and potassium?
>Sodium Chloride is table salt or pink salt. Potassium Chloride is salt substitute, found by the salt in grocery stores
Can I just take sodium without potassium?
>No. This is how you fuck your shit up. Potassium is non-negotiable
How much sodium and potassium?
>2500 mg / 1 teaspoon of each is a good start
Can I take all the salt at once?
>No. You will shit yourself and flush electrolytes. Mix the salts with 1-2 L of water and sip throughout the day. Mixture is called snake juice
Can I just drink water without salts?
>For shorter fasts, yes. But for long ones, you'll deplete your electrolytes and feel like shit
How long can I go on just water?
>Til you feel like shit
Any other minerals I need?
>Some add magnesium to their routine as well
What about multivitamins?
>Not really necessary
Anything else I can add to my routine?
>If your gut is fucked, you can add cayenne pepper
>Some do 1 tsp of baking soda and 0.5 tsp sodium cl for kidney health
>Some take ACV and lemon juice. Acids fuck your teeth, so don't mix with snake juice. Take separately
Coffee, tea, sweeteners?
>Can raise cortisol and insulin, reducing effects of fasting. Otherwise okay
Why not just do CICO?
>CICO fucks with both your TDE and your insulin levels in ways that fasting does not. Also, fasting has other health benefits
What are the other benefits of fasting?
>Autophagy, reduced inflammation, HGH boost, immune system recovery, increased insulin sensitivity, more muscle sparing

HELP
Hunters smell let's me know I'm doing good on my fast. It becomes more motivating.
Stay with it bro. Remember they’re killing themselves and you’re not.
You're gonna make it, stay strong
this really is the best board
thanks bros
he looks absolutely bad on that later pic, like cancer patient or worse.
what's the point in losing all that weight if you are going to look that bad?
imagine unironically craving mc donalds.
try 5 guys and we can talk.
He looks great for his age and time. These multivites made me pretty popular with the other Hobos when I was on (homeless) vacation. Just need to add potassium pills with the regimine.
This happens to me but with tacos.
does anyone know about creatine
Gives wide inserts. Good hydration. Makes oatmeal delicious. (I love creatine).
If anyone should feel envious/jealous in this situation it's them. You are freeing yourself from this prison while they are prolonging their stay.
you arent craving mcdonalds you’re craving salt. get some and you’re cravings will go away
Grow up user, get a life.
Not the answer you wan't to hear but it is the only correct answer.
the other seven replies are better than this one
Breaking my fast with easter chocolate.
Because they are sugar coated soft pats on the back.
OP needs to grow the fuck up or he'll never build discipline.
Broke my fast with chocolate once, felt the need to fart and sharted liquid shit down my leg. Had to immediately take a shower afterwards. Never amerishart sharted like that in my entire life, I guess theres a first for everything.
I blame the chocolate and will never break my fast with candy again.
Hard truth here, he needs to grow some fucking balls and push through the temptation.
Serious question lads, creatine with my meat on keto OMAD? Or should I take this opportunity to cycle off?
for someone who is so grown up, you sure do like to seethe, don't you?
Interpret the simple phrase "grow up" and "get a life" as seething I don't care.
Thoughts on brushing your teeth with baking Soda? My regiment is 48s and I can get by without snake juice, but don’t want to do unnecessary harm to my kidneys.
So I'm rolling 1 meal every 7 days and I'm on day 4 since my last meal and I'm feeling pretty nauseas. I've not experienced this before, I'm burping and it's pretty gross feeling. Any idea what's going on? Not going to stop fasting just wondering whether there's something I'm missing this time round.
Probably good if you have acidic stuff on your teeth like lemon juice or black coffee
Not super worried about the insulin toothpaste thing, seems OCD
You don't need to cycle creatine. This meme needs to die.
what motivates you to get through the first day. I keep failing and having to reset after 24 hours.
Bitch tits and love handles.
Life is a lot better when you're not fat
How long keto OMAD until I have real abs?
Damn bro sorry about your chin :(
This should be all the motivation you need desu.
My 3 day fast was brutal... Feeling cold, can't sleep, stomach grumbling loudly, lethargic, weak, short of breath and light headed. My first fast wasn't like this at all. But with my first fast, I lost nothing. But with this one I lost 8. I can also feel my ribs but my bmi is 21 and I still have a stomach pooch. I'm gonna try to do another 3 day fast at the end of the month. I owe it all to animal crossing for distracting me from my hunger pangs.... Thank you, Animal crossing.
word of advice, if you do some aerobic exercise as you start the fast it will help you get through the hunger phase very quickly, then you shouldn’t be too hungry until it’s time to break the fast again. if you do some running or like 4 hours of brisk walking as you start your fast and you still feel hungry you’re either lacking salt or had poor nutrition before the fast
Eat
how long until your body adjusts to IF?
been about a week now and I try to eat all my cals in an 8 hours window but still feel pretty weak
probably eating less to be fair
85 hours into my 96 hour fast. A few hours ago I started feeling really nauseous and still am. What does this mean?
DAY 6 GIVE IT UP FOR DAY 6
have you had any potassium?
Last time I fasted I lasted around 80 hours and I believe during the fast around 60 hours, I started feeling very sick (I was drinking black coffee and water with himalayan pink salt as well as sea salt) and during the day I would almost pass out multiple times, by the 80th hour I was so sick I had to break my fast with some veggies and fruit.
So my question is this just because this is my first fast in very long time, is this normal and it seems impossible to even do BW calisthentics without protein.
Holy shit nice work
Don't they have sugar though? I guess it isn't a big deal. I take one these with my OMAD, and use NoSalt seasoning since it is basically potassium.
I've tried 8/16 fast and 1600 calories now for 3 days. When will I start to see changes in body weight?
Also when would it be safe to move over to 24 hour or even 48 hour fasting?
And how do I adapt back to my normal eating routines(which is actually maintenance) once I reach my desired weight without making my insulin go through the roof? It's not like I will never fast again though.
In addition, I would be going on a motorcycle roadtrip in SEA this summer if everything goes according to the plan. Here there might be days where I need to fast. How do I prepare for such days assuming I haven't gotten accustomed to fasting yet at that time?
>Also when would it be safe to move over to 24 hour or even 48 hour fasting?
Now, fatty.
Cool, then I'll do that. Just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything that could potentially harm me
No just water
idk what it means but when that happens I take some ACV and it normally goes away
well done, mid day 5 for me
pls respond
It's less than three weeks into spring so uh, start fasting now?
>galaxybrain.jpg
well yes I am already fasting
also answer this
>And how do I adapt back to my normal eating routines(which is actually maintenance) once I reach my desired weight without making my insulin go through the roof? It's not like I will never fast again though.
In the meantime just don't go back to normal, do IF or better yet keto
So in looking for maximum metabolic revamp/increase after a fast, I've noticed that there are essentially two parties of thought for how to break, one being to maintain keto afterwards as your body is already adapted to that state, and the other being that you should break with light carbs, fruit , fruit juice etc.
I am currently on day 3 of a hopefully 6-10 day, have done up to five day before. My current plan is to keep it keto for the first few days after with bone broth to start, then high quality uncooked grass fed beef and beef liver, eggs and dairy. On day 3 or 4 start slowly working in potatoes and brown rice.
Fasting to break weight loss plateau at 5'11" 208lbs.
Any anecdotal evidence is appreciated.
my love-handles are flat for the first time since forever bros. now I gotta start making them go away entirely
you don't need to adapt to anything. as a human your body will adapt to whatever. it's completely natural, stop being a scared bitch and break your food addiction
I'm good at fasting but I'd never ride a motorcycle after day one bro
I've always found my metabolism is the fastest when I exercise a lot and sleep like a rock, I've never noticed a correlation to what I eat
Basically your guy biome starves and dies, right? Really wondering what kind of weird poop this is gonna be. Literally just pounds of germs
no fasting won't normally do this. there is ways to make this happen though and it is good for you
My TDEE at sedentary at my goal weight will go down by like 10 calories, and for years I have neither gained weight nor lost as I simply eat at maintenance. The weight gain came from a period in my life where I was on vacation a few years ago and binge ate alot of junk as I have taste for that back then.
I have no longer been able to do that. I have never voluntarily gone to McDonalds or anything, and when someone brings me there, I usually make it my only meal of the day.
I was even on a 6 month last September and gained NO weight at all, which surprised everyone.
So that is why I am looking at fasting, to get to that goal bf level in the most optimal way. And I have heard that if you're not careful after fasting, your insulin will skyrocket and you will put on your weight back again in no time.
how2kill pounds of poop germs? Raw carrots?
why not?
I'm just looking for options. If it's a bad idea, I will probably just stop by a nearby eatery for a snack on the days where I would mostly just drive.
Being in ketosis before a fast is EZ mode but without it the first few days are shifest. So if you are not planning to do another fast within a week or two then going back to carbs is ok in my opinion. I still don't think that one should break fast with carbs, especially not with fast ones that you get from fruits and juice.
