Wouldn't be surprised if something like this was a first draft, but then quickly scrapped because Ellie getting captured would have made it "sexist" no matter how natural it would have felt in context.
Thats the most obvious path they could've taken and its still better than what they came up with
okay, but how do we cut all that out, remove the zombies, add a lesbian gangbang, and blame the players for not liking it?
Exactly, the story didn't have to be anything "groundbreaking".
TLOU1 wasn't either.
They would've been far better off just keeping the story focused on Joel and Ellie's relationship without shoe-horning a bunch of "OH WAIT- little did you know THIS bitch was related to some enemies from the first game!" crap in there.
Literally a cop-out basing itself on circumstances that don't apply
If they really wanted to subvert our expectations they would have made a good game
I love the idea that Ellie getting her arm broken and getting her face bashed in was the better alternative.
Because a woman did it, of course. Aren't double standards awesome?
Identity politics have ruined everything, and writing a story using them as a guideline is the biggest mistake you can make. I hope this shit gets lambasted hard, but I'm expecting the usual suspects to suck its dick and call it the best written game ever.
ironically the most obvious ideas are usually the best ones
