Story was okay, but in the usual Kojima way it takes characters a long time to say really simple shit. I agree the game is gorgeous and it's weird how I actually found it fun to climb up and over mountains. Barely did any Standard Orders, though, 'cause I figured it'd wear on me. My biggest complaint is your controller bawling at you like a child whenever you fuck up or get into a boss fight but you can turn that off. Surprisingly easy game.
Just finished this, game was a bit longer and convoluted than it needed to be...
He did let people into his life again, look at how he let Deadman in particular give him like three hugs, Lockne put her hands on him even if it wasn't a full hug, and in general he clearly cared for Heartman, Lockne, and Fragile at the very least with Deadman being at the top. I'm pretty sure it was the situation with Lou that made him feel like he needed to do stuff on his own at the moment.
I'm glad they answered all of the big questions that the game and its premise proposed, as batshit insane as some of it was. By the end of the game, I was satisfied with it and I had fun for the majority of the playthrough, but I'm not sure how soon I can go back to it. I've got a handful of things to do for 100% completion, but I think I'm done with it at this point.
Is it good enough to warrant buying a ps4?
Finished it myself just a couple weeks back.
Still haven't done all of cp15, but I'll get to it at some point.
Definitely one of the greatest games of 2010s. Been ages since I've been this hooked to vidya.
Will certainly get the Steam port when it comes, so I can go and help my fellow porters.
It's releasing on PC
The PC port's arriving in July.
Was gonna come out in mere 5 weeks originally, but alas - Covid19.
You do make a good point
I really liked it, even if the pacing could've used some tweaking towards the end.
I've seen some rumors that Sony didn't allow all of the Hideo's original ideas, many which would've made the game even darker than it already is, in fears of scaring the players or causing controversy. In a hindsight, I can totally see there being two poorly meshing "styles" going on in the game. Nothing that would've soured my experience, but makes me wonder what could've been.
>takes itself way too seriously
This isn't an argument.
