Just finished this, game was a bit longer and convoluted than it needed to be, but it was a really nice change of pace from all the formulaic games out there. Gorgeous game too. What did you all think of the story? Seems pretty wrapped up, wonder whats next for Kojima? Same universe? Different genre? What would you like?
Just finished this, game was a bit longer and convoluted than it needed to be...
Kino game
Boring ass game, overwritten typical Kojima story that takes itself way too seriously
I understand why people think its boring, ive felt it myself at times, but taking it slowly and really immersing yourself in the world made it less "game-y" and not boring.
Really enjoyed the Cliff side of things. Die-Hardman wasn't as interesting but still okay. BB part was great.
I just don't get how DLC would happen after that ending.
I really
enjoyed it. it's the first game in years i've put 50+ hours into in less than a month. I had a lot of fun with it and it's batshit story. not sure how I enjoyed how solitary sam was at the end of things, it seemed like he grew to let people into his life again
Death stranding having a darker atmosphere doesn't mean it's takong itself that seriously. A lot of it is rather hammy and intentionally too.
Story was okay, but in the usual Kojima way it takes characters a long time to say really simple shit. I agree the game is gorgeous and it's weird how I actually found it fun to climb up and over mountains. Barely did any Standard Orders, though, 'cause I figured it'd wear on me. My biggest complaint is your controller bawling at you like a child whenever you fuck up or get into a boss fight but you can turn that off. Surprisingly easy game.
He did let people into his life again, look at how he let Deadman in particular give him like three hugs, Lockne put her hands on him even if it wasn't a full hug, and in general he clearly cared for Heartman, Lockne, and Fragile at the very least with Deadman being at the top. I'm pretty sure it was the situation with Lou that made him feel like he needed to do stuff on his own at the moment.
I'm glad they answered all of the big questions that the game and its premise proposed, as batshit insane as some of it was. By the end of the game, I was satisfied with it and I had fun for the majority of the playthrough, but I'm not sure how soon I can go back to it. I've got a handful of things to do for 100% completion, but I think I'm done with it at this point.
Is it good enough to warrant buying a ps4?
Finished it myself just a couple weeks back.
Still haven't done all of cp15, but I'll get to it at some point.
Definitely one of the greatest games of 2010s. Been ages since I've been this hooked to vidya.
Will certainly get the Steam port when it comes, so I can go and help my fellow porters.
It's releasing on PC
The PC port's arriving in July.
Was gonna come out in mere 5 weeks originally, but alas - Covid19.
You do make a good point
I really liked it, even if the pacing could've used some tweaking towards the end.
I've seen some rumors that Sony didn't allow all of the Hideo's original ideas, many which would've made the game even darker than it already is, in fears of scaring the players or causing controversy. In a hindsight, I can totally see there being two poorly meshing "styles" going on in the game. Nothing that would've soured my experience, but makes me wonder what could've been.
>takes itself way too seriously
This isn't an argument.
>takes itself way too seriously
I dont give a shit what anyone says this game was fantastic. Probably the best game that has come out since RDR2
>since RDR2
that's putting the bar pretty darn low.
I like the concept of the story but I didn't enjoy the way it was told. There's so much redundant dialogue and reading e-mails and one-sided interviews wasn't immersive in the least.
RDR2 was a masterpiece. You may not like the game and that's fine but saying it's a shitty game is straight up contrarianism.
I would not call it "shitty", that much polish and attention to detail it has at best. But it is pretty damn typical, "safe", and outright boring at times. A game that would've been better without the open world.
I loved it. I think it and BB are games of the decade, but I gave up trying to talk about it on Yas Forums
i thought it was a very beautiful game, both in graphics and scenery and in the story. the characters are well written with their own quirks and the gameplay is just the right amount of stressfull at times. i really liked building a world with other players
It's releasing on PC soon, and I would never buy a system for it alone. The game is very divisive, you either love it or see everything you do as a waste of time and you won't know until you play it or at least watch gameplay past Lake Knot City. There's simply no middleground, a lot of people will see it as an aimless walking simulator where you don't care about where you're going while other people will see the exploration, the challenge of delivering things where they need to go, the micromanaging to do it properly, and helping people out with your structures as a large pull.
Even if you do end up loving it like I did I personally would never pay more than $30 or $40 for it let alone buy an entire console for it. I got around 160+ hours into it and all the Legend of Legends ranks. My opinion is that what it does it does well, but I don't think I would have bought it if it was any more expensive, you're taking a risk with trying to see if you like the gameplay, and it takes multiple hours before you actually get stuff to stop making the gameplay feel incredibly overburdening (Hermetic Grenades and Power Skeleton being my two specific examples).
>ooga booga you cant even do flossing
27 results found for the word game in a death stranding thread. I am confused. It is not a game.
