I mean, that's debatable. The Joel robbing from the world part I mean, The Fireflies are a shit show from start to finish in the game. They jumped straight to extracting Ellie's brain in a surgery that would kill her with no back up plan, killing the only immune person they know of on the off chance they could figure out how to engineer a cure.
Even ignoring that though, "muh cycle of revenge" is one of the hackiest themes to center a piece of art around. Most people who played the first game knew Joel was going to die.
