This is without a doubt the most batshit retarded story/plot I have seen in at least ten years in all type of entertainment media. Complete and absolute raping of the original game. Fuck off with your 1:1 semantics, this shit is objective garbage. The only people that could defend this slop are the unironically mentally handicapped or paid shills. This shit belongs on a Saturday cartoon. Jesus fucking Christ do you shills have no shame at all? Literal fucking time ghosts for fucks sake... smdh

It's good because it subverts expectations :^)
HERRO GAIJIN PIGGU, ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS SUBVERTED?
>his is without a doubt the most batshit retarded story/plot I have seen in at least ten years in all type of entertainment media
Nah it isnt
but you gotta write it so i makes you look more angry
I was with you as soon as I heard about it and experienced it however when I realized that I can now experience the FF7 world of Gaia without knowing exactly where everything is, everything that’s due to happen, every side mission and materia type, Im actually quite looking forward to it. The combat has grown on me too, it still has elements of turn based but with action elements too, that I now quite enjoy.
Yes I’m disappointed it wasn’t a remake of the original, as I was expecting, however I do think having a new twist on it will be a more interesting experience.
My main issue is that the actual part 1 was dull gameplay, not unlike the Midgar section of the original - very linear, very driven by script and story, little to do outside of the confines of the story. I’m hoping that now the world has opened up to us that now it’ll become more adventurous and exciting.
That entire segment where he leads Cloud through illusionary fire was a stall.
His goal right then and there was to prevent Aerith and Cloud from ever even meeting, by leading Cloud down some winding alleys and distracting him with nonsensical bullshit about the two of them saving the planet.
Then those meddling time jannies and their fucking dog foiled his plans by forcing Aerith to stay in the area until Cloud finally did show up.
But Sephiroth, never one to be deterred by things such as fate or making players content with getting the same thing as always, tried to switch up tactics and tried to apply some cryptic warning to Cloud about this girl he just met that makes it sound like she's going to suffer if she hangs around him. Without outright telling him she'll straight up be killed, otherwise the jannies might NOOOOOOOOO him away like they did Hojo.
After that it's just Sephiroth spending an entire game manipulating Cloud and implanting visions of Aerith's death into Cloud's head with the Jenova cells in Cloud's body.
Look Cloud.
This girl dies Cloud.
You're probably responsible. Don't you think?
7 seconds buddy.
7 seconds is how long you have.
Because that's how long it takes the other me to drop from the heavens and ram my big long rod deep into her quivering womb.
All you need to do is save her, Cloud. SEVEN SECONDS CLOUD.
Because if Aerith lives, then Sephiroth wins. That's what he's trying to set up. Because this sephiroth is from the future, as evidenced by the black Advent Children wing and the fact that advent children music plays during that first encounter and literally nowhere else.
The way in which they’ve gone around creating this chance of being able to break away from the main story is ridiculous though but for FF storylines it’s not entirely far fetched (who collectively forgets they were in an orphanage together for their entire childhood).
What exactly is wrong with a new take/expanding on the game?
it doesnt remind him of when he was a kid aka happy
No fucking way are the fans saying this. Are we actually gonna see The Last Jedi 2.0?
You're stuck in the past. I can't wait to see what happens next in the new story.
the problem isn't even that it's different, it's just complete and objective shit. it's absolutely cringe inducing the second the ghosts start showing up. it's a fucking $100 million dollar budget thrown behind what appears to be a 15 year olds fan fiction.
Seems kino to me. Just play the original if you want to play through the same fucking game again. Fuck 1:1 remasters.
Yes. I've actually seen people argue that the original hints at the Whispers all along.
> if Aeris lives Sephiroth wins
This could be true, as we can assume she can only summon holy in death, as she wasn’t able to use it alive.
If that’s the case however why doesn’t he just /SPOILER/not kill her/END SPOILER/?
7r MAKES FF8 LOOK LIKE SHAKESPEARE
adding a 4th wall breaking time travel narrative is just inherently retarded. I don't care what they are trying to do with the story anymore. it's like watching Dragonball Z on steroids at this point
I totally agree, and still have enjoyed the game
I just wish it had the og plot
Fucking Nomura man
No, because people watch old movies and they don't play old games. Especially not when they've been told that this is an acceptable substitute for the old game. There aren't enough people to spot the differences.
The game as is definitely drags on, the characters seem to all have schizophrenia in how they jump from one extreme emotion to another for every other cut scene. There are far too many cut scenes. There are far too many areas that are mindlessly padded out and made tedious for the sake of making a full game of it.
I don’t think it’s a particularly good game but I do think it’s set up nicely enough for the next chapters, whereby we can experience the FF7 world (and probably much of the original story) with some nice surprises and twists along the way
>what appears to be a 15 year olds fan fiction.
Welcome to Nomura's writing.
>Seems kino to me. Just play the original if you want to play through the same fucking game again. Fuck 1:1 remasters.
when was there time travel what?
One reasonable point of foreshadowing is that in the final fight with Sephiroth, Cloud appears to transport through a wormhole before facing him, which would seem to nod towards some time travel element
STFU shill I don't have time to play your fucking games
Aeris and Sephiroth are aware of the FF7 multiverse that exists.
I didnt like chapter q8 but the way you write makes it look like a parody.
THE WAY THEY WROTE THE GAME MAKES THE GAME LOOK LIKE A PARODY
> 2:45am
Dude it’s not healthy to be up playing vidya at that time, try to sleep by midnight
because the other sephiroth still wants to kill her
shinra still wants her for muh promised land
It's more accurate to say that there are characters who now have knowledge of future events and the states of alternate timelines.
So why doesn’t he go after the other Sephiroth to tell him not to kill her, instead of going after his hated rival?
"subversion" is the new buzzwords nomura groupies use to damage control this disaster
Why do you keep on spamming this in every thread?
You are as bad as Barry when it comes to repeating stupid shit
is this "The Last Jedi" of Final Fantasy games?
Nothing. They're free to add/change/tweak/whatever anything and everything in a remake, just make it fucking good. The remake is full of changes as it is but they aren't getting as shit on as the last chapter because they're mostly not bad. This "we have to fight fate" shit comes out of nowhere, it's pretty jarring. Had they bothered to tweak this portion of the story to somehow encompass fate as a theme, I could get behind it a bit more.
I really don't understand why they even thought they needed to add a new meta-narrative to the very end to explain why the remake series will have massive changes from on.
that's because you have the taste of someone with downs syndrome
retarded plot you'd expect from a TV show that had to keep writing seasons because it is too popular to just end and destroying a lot of what made a ton of characters interesting.
it's a game for "influencers" to farm pogs and luls with.
I think it is more accurate that he’s trying to stop Cloud getting involved because Cloud ultimately kills him. He needs Aeris to lead him to the Promise Land and the temple of ancients. He used Cloud to get the black materia though, so he’d have to figure out a way to fix that issue.
Ultimately the story was very much completed and closed off from all angles, SE trying to change it up now are never going to be able to do it without affecting the continuity
They should just be honest from the start and call it a reimagining, or reboot, or rebirth or whatever the fuck. Remake is not what this is. It doesn't have to be 1:1 to be a remake, but it does have to be faithful.
Nah.
That'll be the second game, since Nomura/Nojima now has full "artistic" freedom for the second game.
It's gonna be a trainwreck and I'm gonna love the damage control.
this is exactly what it is. they have no idea how many games they are making, because that all is determined by how many people by this one. the final story is subject to change at any moment given how many people spend money on it
This video describes the Remake in 30 seconds:
youtu.be
I don’t see how they will have full freedom with affecting the continuity of the game.
If Sephiroth is from the future and knows how things would unfold (and that’s why he’s trying to alter them) then why not just kill Cloud when he can. Or take Aeris’ holy materia. Or go and get the black materia now for himself and summon meteor.
It just doesn’t make sense, there’s no way to make sense of it.
It'd make more sense if the server poured it on the table.
It’d make more sense if the server poured it on the table but whilst doing so the critic had an altered dimensional existence attempt to stop the waiter doing so, only for him to be stopped by floating black table clothes.
