What makes Rean the best JRPG protag?

Undertale is a JRPG

I went and did what you guys said, get the Final Fantasy V Sound Patch, but it runs like total shit, it was so slow I went and check a regular version to compare and the normal version runs perfectly fine, can someone explain to me what the fuck is going on? I can run PSP games perfectly fine on max specs but cannot load a shitty GBArom?
Something weird to add, when I speed toogle the Sound Patch it goes up to 2000% but when I speed toogle the normal version it goes up to 500%.

which tales are the best ones or the easy ones?

Finished Tales of Eternia on hard today.
But won't bother with the ng+ dungeon.
Gonna move on Star Ocean 2, never finished that one, but what version is better, psx or psp?

the psp one plays better, but fuck the new character portraits.
star ocean 1 got another remaster recently, im personally waiting to see if 2 gets the same treatment.

About FF 12, I'm at Paramina at almost lvl 30 on Internation Zodiac Job System. Should I switch to The Zodiac Age? Heard they added job switch

Decided to listen Yas Forums recommendation.
Hope its good.

I would actually suggest following a non spoiler sidequest guide. There is a shitload of great missables in Vesperia.

Would I miss the sidequests if I talk with every npc and check every spot ?

I just finished her game about a week ago. Real fun, I highly recommend.
Best atelier.

I'm a big fan of JRPGs but i keep having trouble finding one that isn't exactly based on grinding

some of my favorite turn-based and action games involve the posibility of you taking on high level bosses with little gear and level as possible, almost like speedrun it if you are good enough with the mechanics, anything like this?

Yeah you will still miss some shit most likely. There is a ton of backtracking involved and it's more about activating specific cutscenes than talking to someone. You don't have to use a guide, but that is like 50% of the game really.

Whoever told me Barthandelus would kick my ass the other day was absolutely right, what the fuck. It's like the game decided right at this moment that it was time to start requiring strategy.
(And not good strategy either, it's "you better kill these things fast" and "you better switch to a defensive paradigm the moment you take damage")

Damn. well thanks for the advice

Forgot context. It's an FFXIII boss.

If you want you could just glance at this to see all the crap you can miss in the beginning. hueyyeng.github.io/VesperiaGuide/missables_spoiler_free/

I'm kind of the opposite. I like the grind. I'm playing FF7 Remake right now and it feels a little braindead. It feels like I can beat the whole game without needing the grind or worry about the character's levels. So it just feels like I'm going from point A to point B. At this point why even have levels? Why not just make it a character action game?

I think a game needs a good balance. Maybe you need to stop and grind 1 or 2 levels go beat a boss but don't go overboard

If you need to grind in a JRPG released after 1990, you're doing something wrong.

Thanks.

I'm with you. I hate when the game is so on rails that it feels like it doesn't matter at all what your characters levels, builds or items are. Why even have them then? Grinding and customization are a couple of the big draws of JRPGs for me. Building up your characters to meet whatever challenges there are feels good.

what game is this

>finding one that isn't exactly based on grinding
git
gud

What? I don't want grinding, grinding is what i hate about JRPGs, i'm asking for one that favors tactics over just "have more levels and shit than your opponent"

i guess i can see why it would be hard to find given that the sidequests are the game and if you want to be low level or want the battles to be hard you'd have to ignore them
