How do you guys deal with gank squads in DS3?
How do you guys deal with gank squads in DS3?
By being in one
i don't, i always get my ass beat and get gesture gang banged afterwards. it's a rare occurrence when everyone in the ganks squad is an idiot and i actually kill the host.
by playing offline
>i don't, i always get my ass beat and get gesture gang banged afterwards.
So I'm not the only one, how do they fuck up the invasion system so badly? They got it right in DS1 and even DS2.
You have to outplay them, one by one senpai. Or rush the host with a buffed straight sword.
Hiding while they look for you is a good way to pick them off. Running to enemies is also useful, provided they dont have seeds.
Turn and burn with a straight sword is retardedly effective.
>>how do you guys deal with gank squads in DS3?
>dont invade at high soul level, ideally 80 and under
>get as many estus flask as you can
>prisoner's chain, fap+3, life ring+3
>poise weapon, straight sword and dagger in your inventory
>learn to setup parry
>learn to roll backstab
>if the gank is clearly experienced, let them waste their estus on pve a little bit
>poison rotten ghru dagger for extra pressure
tl;dr by getting gud
>Implying the gank squad isn't set up purely to ambush you when you invade
You've never faced true power
by not playing it
invading is supposed to be a very hard thing by design, you need to optimize your character for it and practice a lot
>getting hit by a halberd thrust
>They got it right in DS1
Just give yourself a curse dagger and invade at the High Wall if you want to feel like you're invading in DaS1 again.
What is the best place to gank squad and why is it the Grand Library
if the invasion is borderline unwinnable just black crystal out, go play with someone else.
Would you play basketball against 10 people by yourself? No, pick your fights
>Not fighting to your last dying breath
>Not holding out for the reinforcing invaders to break the enemy line
>Just crystalling out like a bitch
That's bloodborne picture and in bloodborne invading was almost DS1 tier broken in favor of invader
Twinking's the only actual option, they're going to be getting high level phantoms anyway.
Divide and conquer.
if thats your thing then you shouldnt complain about the set up ganks
Baiting gank squads through doorways or around corners and then immediately turning around and launching a heavy attack with a str weapon with high poise usually works well enough.
Actually str weapons with high poise in general are good gank squad fighters but if even one of your opponents is a competent pvper you're gonna have a bad time no matter how cheesy you play.
I'm not, the ganks are part of the fun.
Who would play vidya if it annoyed them?
this is the cringiest webm i've ever seen. it's even worse when you realize the creator thought he was being such a badass in it
*unplugs ethernet cable*
use op weapons like the whip and storm ruler
nobody mentioned it but undead hunter charms are quite useful, i got countless hosts with it when otherwise they would just outheal me
>not unplugging the invader’s ethernet cable
never gonna make it
>get invaded for first time in bloodborne
>my saw little sidearm flamethrower does no damage
>my spear does no damage
is this normal
this
>dagger with dash weapon skill
>obscuring ring
>silvercat ring
>slumbering dragoncrest ring
>chloranthy ring +3
>force miracle
So much fun to fuck with gank squads when they can’t even hit you. Have them chase you around a corner right next to a cliff and force them right off, the ones that survive always stand there in awe then run away in fear to summon more spirits.
all I encounter at this point is summon scaling exploiters and stupid fucking aldriches and reds teaming with hosts, only to be killed a second later.
parrying with hornet and leo ring equipped
there's always at least one retarded who spams R1 or a rapid hit weapon art
are you reinforcing them and using blood gems?
The only souls game where invading is downright miserable is Dark Souls 2.
DS2 was their first clumsy ass attempt at balancing invasions and it was the fucking worst. Soul memory was a godawful mechanic and even with the simpleton's ring introduced like a year later it's still utterly unfun to make invaders for SM brackets because you're horribly gimped in what you can upgrade and use. You can no longer just re-purpose your invader if you get tired of your setup, you either accept SM hit or remake him from scratch. They also removed every instance of invader being able to interact with the environment. They can't open doors, they can use switches. You can no longer do funny shit like switching Catacombs bridges, you can't move past certain points of the level because they are closed. Godawful roll i-frames and clunkiness of combat system meant it's insanely hard to fight against groups, and DS2 was the game that introduced the matchmaking priority system which meant if there's coopers in the area, you will get thrown into the world. It only became worse because there's no full orb, either farm like a retard or use the equally awful arena to get them. Oh, and they introduced the Seed, the single most retarded item to ever exist for multiplayer.
You can trace all the bad invasion design decisions of DS3 to DS2, but they nerfed the most obnoxious shit. Seed is no longer permanent, it's only 40 seconds. You're agile as fuck, your aiming is precise so you can fight and fuck up entire groups if you're good at positioning and prediction. Priority system is still there but because of how powerful you are again fighting single hosts is just plain unfun, you just bully them to death. Thee's a ring that makes you impossible to detect from certain range which is absolutely god tier for setting up ambushes. You can finally open some doors again. Weapon matchmaking is way better than soul memory.
Yeah, at the point in the game where you're first getting invaded, your character is weak, your weapons are barely fortified, and you have like 5 blood gems to your name and they're all like 1% damage up.
If you're on low levels and get invaded, you better have a ledge nearby because you won't kill the invader otherwise.
By not playing the game.
Recently went back and tried some fun PvP builds. I was quickly reminded that DS3 PvP is a complete shitshow and it's just not worth it.
I'd take Iron Keep bridge duels over this any day.
