The constant fighting isn't fun.
It just wears you down without having any down time to explore.

Nobody is forcing you to progress right to the next fight as you finish one, there's shit to find all over the place.

I'd say instead of arenas with platforming sections between them just have sprawling levels that are filled with demons.

What does this mean? There's infighting. Though admittedly when I saw the shit going down in the Final Sin level in the building you're supposed to jump to, with the tyrants, cyber mancubi and all sorts of other shit I stood there for a good 5 minutes and not one demon killed another demon.

infighting does no damage, demons can't hurt eachother. it's just for show

Have only one secondary fuction for each weapon, as it stands one of the two weapon mods for each weapon is shit and you'll generally use just one of them.

I'd give the Super Shotgun a powerup to instantly recharges the hook if you kill the demon you're currently hooking.
I'd remove the Marauder's shield, make him faster, spawn him in the middle of the big fights and not at the end of them, and encourage the player to kill him using the Crucible in a parry minigame. Parrying him twice in a row would kill him and add one Crucible charge.

Have the grenade switch key just fire the ice bomb. There's only 2 grenade types in the game so what's the point of having a switch key?

In general the Marauder should be more interesting to fight. Right now he's too easy to cheese.

I like having a lots of options for guns

I mostly stick to one mod for each weapon, but I've seen people use almost the complete opposite setup because that's what they prefer. I use micro missiles and switch to the scope only on Urdak but I've seen many people use the scope as their primary mod. Same goes for the rocket launcher, I use the lock on but remote detonate is very popular too. For the chaingun, I've seen plenty of people using the shield but I use the mobile turret. There are weapons where one of the mods is clearly superior though. I'd rather they make enticing mods for the weapons than just leave one choice for every weapon.

That's actually a fantastic idea. Maybe it would be too powerful in practice, hard to say without getting to try it out. At the very leart the cooldown could be cut in half.

Didn't even think about that until now. You're absolutely right. I don't know how grenades work on consoles, maybe they fucked it up because of console binds, similar to how E is tied to several different actions?

Sword is normal weapon. No charge bullshit, swap it with bfg in terms of controls.
You can parry marauder attacks with sword
More master levels
Different buttons for grenades
Air control is not a rune and enabled by default
A bloody palace like mode or allow to customize ripatorium with enemy waves and gimmick mods.

My guy, Bethesda literally accidentally left a DRM-free version in the release of the game, it didn't even need a crack. If you can't find a torrent you're a complete brainlet and don't deserve to play this game.

I mean it can definatly be a good thing but half of the options are meh.

i found the pistol's charged shot pretty useful for sniping imps lobbing fireballs at you from far away

not that there's a lot of those in eternal

I know it sounds really tryhard but I'm a god at fps games and eternal didn't deliver like 2016 did. They seemed to realize that changing weapons was not only intrinsic to doom as a fucking game but that it up-ended your gameplay style and switched it up n I miss that.

But it's still a good game.

The amount of times I grabbed onto a bar I didn't want to grab while just jumping around mid-fight... even worse if I'm moving in for a glory kill and then miss it because Doomguy feels like swinging around like a dick.
