Back in the day, the moderation fell onto the people hosting their servers and all the idiots assholes got filtered onto servers that let them be assholes to everyone and the normalfags stayed on their own servers.
Now that the devs maintains a match making server, they have to filter assholes from the game completely since they can't just be banned from that server.

I miss those fucking days. Admins that maintained their servers. Mods that came on. Sure it was a hell in some places, but you could always go next door and have a good time.
