Switch Physical VS Digital

Which format is better?

Digital is better from an ease of use perspective
Physical is better in less direct ways, but I'm sure Yas Forums will list them all for you

I like physical just because I think the tiny cartridges are cute. I know it's not a good enough reason, but fuck you I don't care.

Just get a 256gb SD card and never have to touch a cartridge again.

With digital you always have the game on you, and its there forever.
Physical can be better if you want to sell the game or don't want to shell out for a big SD card. Or if you're one of those autists who collect tons of game boxes to display on your shelves

wih the advent of manditory updates and in some cases 80% of the game needing to be downloaded before playing off of a physical medium i dont give a fuck anymore. physical was great when the whole game was on there and didnt needed to be updated every two days because of game breaking bugs. now i couldnt care less and pirate every thing i can

Switch in particular seems built for digital. I couldn't imagine changing out the cart at this point. And the eshop has better deals anyway so I don't even bother with physical.

>Or if you're one of those autists who collect tons of game boxes to display on your shelves
At least my display is bigger than Sony's.
And that's just from first-parties.

I want to buy more physical, but nintendo games never seem to go down in price, even if it's a port.
E shop usely has a bunch of sales though, but not every game i want digital.

Pirating everything.

pirate digital

I tend to buy and keep physical for games of saga's that i follow, the only exception is new horizon's since i knew beforehand it was going to be a nightmare since you play in different times of the day multiple times

Are digital games linked to an account or to the console?

physical for single player games, digital for multiplayer

Physical. I mean if you're taking the thing with you you're going to have a carry case with you anyway. Not to mention unlike the other systems they don't install the game.

Digital if you are a tism child who cant drive to the store to buy a game and learn how to open the case and put it in.
Physical if you are a chad to sell later

I have 2 switches. Generally I'm looking for physical so
1. I don't have to load the same game on 2 consoles.
2. I can resell the game later when it inevitably starts to gather dust over time.
3. I can switch it between consoles without having to once again, load it on 2 switches.

I buy digital so
1. I can re-download it on every console and utilize cloud saves.
2. Certain games on certain devices
3. No matter what the state of my switch I have a digital download ready to access.
4. You get 3% money spent back in coins that you can use towards future purchases. The advantage here is that a physical game is 1% money spent back. So it's more lucrative to buy digital.

I want to say that 60% of the switch library is pick your preference, but I've already purchased animal crossing twice so that I have complete options due to having multiple people use multiple consoles.

Technically Sony has a larger physical library.

Physical because sometimes a game is so shit you gotta sell it and get rid of it. Man I fucking hated Pokemon sword, I should've listened to everyone.

It really depends on your use case.
If you're playing stuff like Animal Crossing or Pokemon where you're going to be checking in constantly you want digital. If you're talking some 50+ hour game you can get away with physical, but it's still easier just to go digital. Most of the games out there don't even come complete on cartridge which means the same servers people are convinced will shut down taking your games will also remove any post-launch patches like the stuff for Mario Maker.

Physical because 90% of the time due to stock shortages you can resell a physical game for more than you paid. Go to ebay and see what atelier ryza is selling for used.

>console warring in 2020

Its okay if your poor user

>buy $60 cartridge
>play it to death and get bored
>can resell it
...
>buy digital copy
>

Physical
+can lend to friends
+can resell
+probably has a box if you care about that
- can lose those tiny shits if you don't put them in a safe place(usually the box)
-can lose those shits in a fire even stolen possibly if you do take the switch places

Digital
+lose switch or cartridge it's fine
+don't have to switch out gamecard (would sd card if you have too many games)
-the game is your(Switch account)'s forever, no selling or giving away that shit unless you give all of it
-nintendo accounts are also linked to their gacha shit if you play that so if you do you're definitely not getting rid of it
Unless you're lazy or think your house might burn down physical.

Dude, that was some low hanging bait and you bit it like a retard.

This

I got BotW and Odyssey physical and I regret it, digital is the way to go.

I pirate everything on switch and buy physicals of anything I would rate 8/10 or higher

>consolefags were merely pretending to be cancer
Yeah no

Depends on the game. Games like Animal Crossing are better digital, because you check them every day. Smash is also a good contender for digital, since a good chunk of the roster is downloadable dlc and not on the cartridge.

I would say physical because in 10 years nintendo is going to pull online support for the Switch.
I would only say digital if a game is on PC, because PC is nearly forever.

Just sold my Octopath CE I bought and played on ebay for 140 bucks used

>literally got paid to play a game
