PC thread

Lookin to upgrade my PC with my trumpbux. What should I upgrade? I'm looking to maybe play RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077.

Do you think Cyberpunk 2077 is even worth playing on PC?

If you're staying at 1080/60, then do a modest GPU upgrade. If you're moving up to 1440/144, then you'll need to upgrade the CPU too.

>skylake platform (threadlet)
>ddr3
>maxwell gpu
time to retire the lot I reckon
>R5 3600
>B450 Tomahawk
>16gb DDR4 3200
>M.2 SSD
You can just move your hdd and gpu over for now and upgrade later on when 30xx and big-navi drop.

>time to retire the lot I reckon

Fuck really? God dammit.

There's no harm in just getting a GPU and throwing it in there and see what happens. If you're happy with the results, just keep the upgrade there.

what said, if I were you I would get the platform upgrade done first but if you want you can just get a new GPU and have short-term gains and do the rest later down the road.

You already can run all thise games without an issue.
No game is worth getting a fucking console.

Don't listen to him.
I am on i7 2600K + 16GB of DDR3 + GTX 1060, and have had no issues playing ANYTHING at fullHD 60fps.

You don't exactly need an upgrade at all. Maybe throw in a new GPU and swotch to an i7 st some point, but you really are quite fine.
I'd rather update to Windows 7, or at least get an Enterprise edition CD Key to make that Wontworks10 more bearable.

What should I upgrade?

keep your ram and buy a ryzen processor, re use the ram for it and then see if you can get a used 1070 for under 200 bucks and you should be set for 1080p60 for a few years yet. hell, get a cheap 144hz monitor if you want to take advantage of that 1070 in lesser demanding titles like cod modern warfare, battlefield etc where you'd hit over 100 fps on high settings.

skylake is ddr4 moron

Any specific 1070 in mind? I'd probably just buy new, don't want the hassle and shit.

1070 is the last gen nvidia cards hence why it's so cheap now but performance is roughly on par with an rtx 1660 ti whilst having more ram (8gb vs 6gb). if you're buying new you may as well wait for the next gen nvidia cards dropping at the end of the year because they'll be up to standard with next gen features which the consoles will have. if you're looking for a cheap upgrade on a budget the used 1070-1080 is the way to go.

and evga is a good brand.

If you're going to buy new, you're better off going with a newer GPU. Either get an RTX 2060 super or wait and see what Nvidia or AMD releases next.
In its current state, ray tracing is a meme, but AI upscaling is advancing quickly, like Nvidia's DLSS. Only works on RTX currently, hopefully AMD comes up with an answer to it too.

Everything, y a mac fag.

>h an rtx 1660 ti
it's GTX 1660 ti.
They don't support RTX.

Where does the GPU go?

>2600k
But you *have* overclocked it right? Cause I have that exact CPU and at stock it's causing framedrops.

>CPU
i5 8600k

>GPU
GTX 1060 6GB

>RAM
8 GB RAM

>MOTHERBOARD
TUF B360-PRO GAMING

>STORAGE
500 GB SSD
1 TB HDD

What should I upgrade first, got 800$-1000$ max

ram, get to 16gb

Your operating system.

Honestly why anyone with AMD graphics uses anything but the Mesa drivers at this point is beyond me.

>ATI
now that's a name i haven't seen in ages

Just get 5700 and SSD (yes, even Sata 2 makes big difference). And do full upgrade in a few years.

rec me some upgaydes
