did you even play the fucking game? He can't find any friends because he got bumfucked to the boonies due to not participating in jewery and nepotism. He literaly tried and got punished for it. Meanwhile Yu just moved into town and already got a gang of friends and lovers with being hero on the side. Adachi was right and there's nothing you can do to not accept that.

He hates the boonies and everyone in them. He doesn't make friends there because he resents them and thinks of them all as his "punishment". Yu was sent away from his home life to somewhere he didn't necessarily want to be either, people forget that. He made the most of it and went out and met a shitton of people. "Got" a gang of friends and lovers is an exaggeration considering he put his fucking life on the line to do all of that, and he worked himself to the bone to keep up to the task.

because he tried that in the city and at the academy and he got diddly squat. Also there are no one his age to hang out there ad no opportunitites to do so because of work and Inaba's distance to the big cities.
