"Got" a gang of friends and lovers is an exaggeration considering he put his fucking life on the line to do all of that, and he worked himself to the bone to keep up to the task.

exactly, so Yu only had it all because of luck and fate, exactly what Adachi said. Some people are born to have friends and succeed, some don't.
