Have you ever gotten caught torrenting vidya...

Have you ever gotten caught torrenting vidya? I’m thinking about torrenting various visual novels and want to know what i’m getting myself into.

aren't direct downloads the better way to go?

They're gonna get cha

You're only caught if you're torrenting movies

No.
>µTorrent
Use anything else, please.

So if I wanna Torrent Imouto Paradise; I could do that without worrying about anything?

>caught
you can get caught?

Anybody here have gotten warnings? If so what service did you have?

I know jack shit about torrenting so I don’t know why utorrent is bad.

I streamed Zootopia once and my ISP sent me a letter telling me I did bad and to do some online thing saying how bad torrenting is.
They'll threaten to cut off your service if you keep doing it. Mind you, it's not the ISP that is watching but the company which is tracking the torrents and send a notification to your ISP that you're torrenting their shit.

I got caught downloading movies twice. Never had any issue with games asides from viruses.

Are you the distributor of the torrented media who's losing money?
If not, then there's literally nothing to worry about.

No, since nobody gives a shit about Australia

So what groups are trustworthy and won't try putting some miners or malware on your pc?

I got a warning from my isp for pirating rayman games lol

How do you even get caught?
I’ve torrented assloads upon assloads of music, movies, programs, and vidya, with no VPN and accross at least 3 different ISP’s, and have never once been caught

I've gotten one warning, I think it was for the sims or something lol. I have xfinity, they sent me a letter that basically said "pls stop" and that was the extent of it.
If you're pirating from a large studio like EA, ubisoft or bethesda and you live in the US, just do yourself a favor and hide your IP. Your ISP will not really give a shit, but I believe they can throttle your speed if you do it too often

It has ads, just use qBittorrent.

You forgot RIAA trackers.

are you 12?

utorrent devs desperately try to make money out of it and caused a massive controversy when they sneaked a crypto miner inside it

qbit is non-profit and has no ads, spyware or jewish devs

That was a long time ago when I was a poorfag who used eMule. I once got a 'fun' virus that would auto-fill every form on web pages with stuff like "I'm a filthy pirate who steals video games".
Also got got infected with some russian ransomware once but I managed to get rid of it, thanks to Linux.

I've been buying almost all my games for years now and I haven't had any issues the couple ones I've torrented. As long as you stick to private trackers you'll be fine.

I'm a burger, back in November I torrented Pokemon Sword, first time I had ever torrented anything illegal. A few months later my internet service was unexpectedly cut off. Looking into it my ISP had sent me multiple copyright infringement strikes over the one game, but I had never seen them (they were only listed on a pretty isolated part of their website), so that was their way of "getting my attention." My punishment was a full 24 hours of no internet. I hadn't taken any precautions since I figured there was no way I'd get caught but I guess my ISP is just really shitty.

nope

thankfully i live in a country where isps don't give a shit what you download

>Why yes, I use uTorrent 2.2.1, how could you tell?

>first world = get lawsuit for every download, go to prison/have to pay out of your ass

>3rd world = nobody cares

>I've been buying almost all my games for years now
That's my situation too, so I'm out of the loop, but given recent times, I don't want to spend my limited money on games so I'm looking into this again.

I've been pirating for years and my ISP doesn't give a fuck

>"playing" visual novels
>scared to torrent

op is a fag as usual

I've only ever been caught torrenting nintendo titles. Got flagged for torrenting kirby's air ride back in 2014.

I got caught, and sued. They can easily trace you. DONT TORRENT GAMES, BUY THEM!

Ugh, fucking newfags. Instead of asking in public like this, why don't you find someone who already knows and ask them in private, or just do some research? Here's a keyword to get you started, DMCA.

I just use a vpn

>first world country and nobody cares
Feels good man

they can
and they do

>various visual novels
I only play the porn focused games and have never had an issue in my nearly 15 years of piracy. If you are not living in japan they just do not care apparently.

>pretending to be a shill on Yas Forums

Imagine not knowing how to pirate in the year 2020 holy fucking shit.

>torrenting visual novels
lol fuck off
Nobody cares about your weeb bootleg just go for it.

if you're worried just look for nord vpn keys online. Any one account can support 6 computers so those are everywhere

I got a warning for downloading the 1.13 WoW client for a private server a couple years ago.

Nope. All you need is to be 100% safe is a non-shitty BitTorrent client that supports blocklists and proxies, a private tracker and a VPN. There's a ton of discount codes for VPNs circulating around, you can get a 1-3 years plan dirt cheap.

You'd just have to worry about the party van depending one where you live

Nice try Todd.

Tell them to fuck off. It's not cool to be arrogant or anything but, what the fuck business is it of theirs that you're downloading dead software that doesn't do anything?

>visual novels
Assuming you live in America or Europe, lol no.
Japanese people barely speak English, they're not going to bother learning an entire language and a country's legal system just to sue some guy over piracy of all things.

Nothing worth pirating anyways with new games.

I never get any issues but I live in a shitty country so no one cares
