>tfw one of the last surviving 90's kid
>tfw Pokemon used to be really good
>tfw Pokemon nowadays is basically "Press A to win"
>"hey you defeated this level 10 Yungoos! We will reward you with a shitload of points for all your Pokemon party, even for those who didn't participate!"
>every single battle the PC reminds you that Water is strong against Fire
>no sense of challenge anymore
>people actually complain if the game is slightly "difficult"

When are we getting the true Pokemon back?

Pokemon was always "press a to win"
If you think differently you probably just haven't played any of the games since you were a kid

I've enjoyed pretty much every gen except for gen 3 which I skipped. Didn't buy either of the current gen games because of the missing Pokemon.

Blastoise is my favorite Gen 1 final starter evolution. A lot of my favorites are still from Gen 1 and 2. Top 3 favorites are Jolteon, Crobat, and Arcanine.

Pic related is very relatable to what is going to happen again on gen 9.

still have both of them, still works great
I only ever also had fire red and sapphire, and just between you guys and me, I've never beaten any of them. had a lot of fun playing though

My favorite pokemon game was BW2.

90s kids ARE people who grew up in the 90s. What you want is 90s babies, which is what you are. You fucking baby.

difficulty in RPGs doesn't exist.

Shit was the best, I used to listen to Hybrid Theory blasting off from my mp3 player while I ate cookies and soda until dinner was ready ... I miss those times.

You're lost

>1998
>Gold
I didn't have a gameboy so i downloaded a java version of the game from an sketchy website, it ran unfathomably slow but i was a dumb kid that didn't know any better so i still loved it. Pretty sure it took me about a month to beat because every wild encounter lasted like a full minute. When i played diamond years later it blew my fucking mind how fast it was, pretty ironic in restrospect

1992, Sapphire 'cause I didn't have a gameboy. Even though I grew up with the originals and Crystal I couldn't play them and was forced to watch my friends and neighbors playing while I only had a PlayStation. When Sapphire came out I had a PC so I played it on an emulator.
