The originals and the remakes are different games. 2 and 3 are especially different with their remakes. 1's remake (REmake) is the most "faithful" but it's still a pretty different experience and I would not recommend playing it first, despite what many others say. REmake is designed for people who played 1 first.

It's like this, in the original games, you had paths, choices, and events that no longer exist in the rest of the series, the remake removes and adds shit, and it looks and plays better.
