Islam's beliefs are technically just a modified version of existing abrahamic religions blended with mesopotamian faith of ishtar, under the head of a unique-to-islam prophet. Similar arguments cannot be made for christianity and buddhism as adaptations of jewish and hindu faith, respectively, because of the key difference that their major difference is not a mere prophet or belief change but a unique divine figure. Islam is as much a "different religion" from abrahamic faiths as nestorianism and origenism differ from roman christianity.
