Why can't I stay interested in JRPG's any more?

Coming from psx classics the only jrpgs that still make it for me are smt, persona, fire emblem (if there proper fft or ot games I wouldnt even touch modern FE) and xb. Or one time dead franchise games like RoF and Natural Doctrine.

I tried Neptunia, modern DQ, modern FF, tales and many more but they just dont do it for me.

Three Houses was actually fun user. You don't have to engage in the dating sim stuff.

My 20 cents: Characters and stories are shit.
They haven't evolved much since. The only modern jrpg I really enjoyed was DQ11.

It had charming characters and a neat twist in the plot more interesting. However at the end of the day it's still not that groundbreaking.

Jrpg plots need more EDGE and MATURE gamer shit. As cringe as it may be.

Is ffix really that good? Played it for a bit (kuja's castle in the desert? been like 10 years) and I didn't find it interesting. It seemed super generic. Might give it another shot now that I'm older

Oh wait I also liked BD1. But then didnt like Bravely second.

I actually enjoy even the bad Tales games just for the 60fps combat, in high difficulties it's always tons of fun and there isn't much else like it on the market

It's a story focused genre, but it's even more committee'd than comics and cartoons.

Because you eat ass

RPG'S today have some of shitty diversity/SJW message/agenda to push. Old RPG's just focused on the fun things unlike today.

Chrono Trigger and Grandia
