It's the only game in the series I enjoyed

unironically my all time fav game

It is good indeed. 2 was great too but 1 has its own charm. Great games.

Best all around game in the series. Has aged beautifully. KH2 misses the mark only because the plot is a mess but sticks a landing in the last minutes

Between this and 2 I'm not sure which one I like more. 2 improved the gameplay but 1 had a better story and feeling of adventure

I think I grew up at the worst time for liking Japanese video games.

>love Kingdom Hearts as a kid.
> play the second game and sure the story is ridiculous but still enjoy it anyway.
> play FF7 and FF12 and have a good experience.
> see FF7 : Advent Children and all the interesting characters are turned into wimpy bisexual caricatures.
> FF13 finally drops and buy the game despite it looking terrible.
> grind through the 40 hours pure torture to get to the "open world".
> finally get some freedom and the game doesn't improve
> have such an ordeal with the game, vow to never pick up another JRPG

After the compelling experiences I had with MW2, Halo 3, Dead Space, Red Dead and Alan Wake, I couldn't find a game with less to contribute in any department than Final Fantasy 13.
Only recently, have I started to become interested in Japanese games again.
Although, I will still never buy another Square Enix game.

2 had better gameplay.
1 had a vastly better story.

yeah. It still holds up, too. KH2 had better combat but a worse story and worse level design.

How hard is to just follow up to this game?
>action rpg
>ff characters + disney worlds
>save king mickey
Fucking impossible i guess. I wont play any kingdom hearts game past 2 out of principle. Ive grown up and moved on. Taking 15 years to write a sequel is a waste of everyones time.
