Can't draw or code

>Can't draw or code
>Bought a PC to learn programming, played games on it instead
>Had no experience or knowledge about game development, applied to a job anyway
>Somehow managed to land a job at Capcom because it was the 90's
>Ends up being a planner on the original Resident Evil
>Mikami likes him so much, he's allowed to direct the sequel
>At 26 Kamiya is in charge of his own first video game
>RE2 blows everyone away and breaks sales records
>Goes on to make DMC, revolutionzes 3D action games forever
>Later makes Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta, Okami, Wonderful 101
>Flawless track record and considered one of the most talented game designers around

People make fun of idea guys, but gaming not having enough Kamiya's is why it sucks now. Everything is too controlled and corporate, you need to be "right for the job" and have a massive resume; when in actuality you need an passionate madman with a great vision.

Same shit with Miyazaki and Kojima

>Flawless track record
Mikami literally cancelled his RE2 and brought onboard another scenario writer to fix the game.

>RE2 blows everyone away and breaks sales records
Not before running it down to the ground
>Goes on to make DMC
Not before running RE4 down to the ground as well

was just wondering today how old he was when he directed his first game. wasn't far off.

What people like you never understand is that there's no need for "idea" guys. Anyone can have an idea. It isn't a skill set. "Idea guys" are people that have no skills and aren't worth hiring. If you stuck a 40 year old mother in a room for a month and told her to come up with plot ideas, characters, themes, and objectives and gave her nothing else to do she'd come up with all sorts of stupid shit eventually.

Knowing this there's no reason to hire someone "for their ideas" instead of hiring someone who can actually perform a task and is going to have their own dumbass ideas as well.

Boomers had it easy. Hideo kojima had no technical skills either and I believe neither did miyazaki? Can you imagine getting hired to work on games with no background now

why do his glasses look like they were photoshopped in?

>miyazaki

the serial killer? the fuck does he have to do with video games?

>there can't be two people with the same name
He means the director of from software games (demons souls/dark souls etc)
