How hard would it be for sega to just copy the formula of SA2 for every game?

How hard would it be for sega to just copy the formula of SA2 for every game?

I played sonic forces for a couple of minutes and it's clear the whole game is going to be the same lazy boring stages that switch from 3d to 2d.

Why is sonic such a difficult concept? It was already perfected 20 years ago.

You are assuming that that Sonic Team is the same of today. You are assuming that they didnt lost the source code of SA2 or that they can replicate that when they couldnt even do it with Sonic Heroes which was like 2 or 3 years after SA2.

They probably lost the source code lmoa

because it's fucking bad user

You can't coherently implement the concept of multidirectional speed. 2D is excellent because it's going forward and timing jumps. 3D is chaos since you can't play comfortably while going fast because you'll miss everything or just backtrack every time you miss something along the way.
Also, Sonic's attitude is cringeworthy and having him develop a speaking, interactive personality only appeals to 7 year olds or furries.
Mania is where it's at. Such a fun, excellent game.

Sounds like you just suck at spatial reasoning.

Imagine an adventure game but instead of meme gimmick characters the whole game is sonic, so 90% of the levels aren’t wasted on at most tolerable boring crap. The sonic stages in adventure are amazing
