The problem is that they stretched 5 hours of story in a 40 hours game. But they didn't care about the pacing at all, it feels so fucking slow and tedious, the sewers, the train graveyard, the route to the playground. Everything is extended to ridiculous lengths

The game isn't really a remake but a time travel sequel where Sephiroth basically copies Xehanorts plan as a contingency. As such a bunch of iconic scenes have time jannies flying around obnoxiously trying to keep the timeline pure instead of just adapting the scene normally. Then the game goes totally off the rails at the end.

Honestlly user, if you want to play it that badly wait for it to come out on pc and pirate it. I mean you do what you want, but this game is a hot mess

I’ll say this. They did a better job of getting across the barrel/AVALANCHE is in the wrong, and that outside of your neighborhood, most citizens are at best indifferent to them. Even without SHRINRA propaganda most people would be telling them to fuck off regardless.

People are assblasted because Square lied about it being a remake. That's basically the only reason, rather that's a deal breaker or not depends on how much you care about the fact that you aren't actually playing FF7

I feel like most people actually understand these endings, it's just that they think it might have some deeper meaning and therefore watch these videos. What you said, though, might just be as true. Most people who play modern video games are just used to walking from quest marker to quest marker.
