Are there any mods Yas Forums recommends to enhance the gameplay? I've heard there's some good mods that make brewing and alchemy a bigger part of the game

I hardly consider Skyrim a game, it's more of a modding platform. Even with mods, I'd generally rather play Witcher, but without mods, it's not even a debate.
The verisimilitude in particular, something all open world games advertise themselves with, is a stark contrast. Novigrad feels like a city, Whiterun is smaller than my house. Bethesda used to get away with this by saying each character was "deeper", but are they really? The repetitive three barks that Novigrad randomly generated NPCs have is roughly the same amount as you get from most NPCs in Whiterun. The only real characters in Skyrim are 2D projections that people have memed personality onto, like Nazeem.
If CDPR does another open world game, with that setting, but gives it a character creator and class system, they're going to eat Bethesda's lunch. I don't know of anybody that is happy with Bethesda games in their vanilla state, it's just that nobody else is really in that same space.

Skyrim.
Skyrim doesn't havea shitty boring combat and it has the best magic system. In Skyrim I can be whatever the fuck I want and look however the fuck I want.
In Witcher 3 I'm forced to be Geralt of Rivia, an old 90 year old creep who wants to fuck 16 years old, is as interesting as a potato and clearly a self insert of the author since he could never get laid and had to make up a strong unlikeable macho as the guy every girl would go for, even if he's ugly, poor, not muscular, etc.
Skyrim came out in 2011 and you can replay it thousand and thousand of times. Witcher 3 has no replay value since the choices you have are extremely small and petty af.
People who prefer Witcher 3 are 15 years old happy that the game showed some boobs and vegana. it's gross.
