It's blatant that he saw Matthew's similar complaint about having to watch Luigi fly in to get a green star 150+ times all over again or however many it was, sometimes just to then spend five seconds of gameplay grabbing a star that's right where you spawn, and didn't really grasp what the problem was here but thought it sounded smart and tried to copy the complaint because he approaches his videos more like homework he has to find a way to fill out rather than a bowl to pour his thoughts into.

Pretty much. He wanted to go south to see what would happen when you reach the edge of the world and autistically slammed himself into the Lynel over and over again for at least an hour until he realized it was basically impossible for him to ever win. He framed retreating from the Lynel as a bad thing and a flaw with the game.
I'd imagine if he ever played Yooka-Laylee The Impossible Lair he'd seethe over not being able to beat the Lair on his first try.

I think you can pretty clearly tell the difference in quality between Matthew's BotW video and Joseph's BotW video. That should really be enough for you to tell which is the better reviewer.
Also, take note of their release dates.
