>RE4 focuses on action rather than horror, has linear level design, lots of set pieces and QTEs >10/10, game of the generation, best resident evil game ever
>RE6 focuses on action rather than horror, has linear level design, lots of set pieces and QTEs >0/10, worst game ever, ruined resident evil
Why is one so highly praised but the other so widely hated?
Even if the game was shit its combat system needs to be used somewhere else, in an entirely different game. It had cool gun-kata shit like a quickfire jabs, akimbo wielding, good melee, counter blows. It should not have been a RE game, they could have made a cool Vanquish like TPS.
Jaxon Walker
RE4 doesn't actually play that differently from the older games. The biggest differences is the camera angle and inventory system.
RE6 is an actual TPS that also has a dedicated melee combo button.

Both Raiders of the Lost Arc and Transformers are action heavy blockbusters with an emphasis on set pieces and special effects. Why is one so highly praised while the other is so widely hated?
Gabriel Nguyen
Why are you RE4 haters so retarded? Do you think Aliens Colonial Marines and Half Life are the same quality because they are both about shooting aliens?
Colton Miller
>RE4 doesn’t actually play that differently RE4 is about killing waves of spawning zombies and other enemies. All of the older RE games were about dodging zombies and saving ammo for when you had no other choice to kill them
Nicholas Martin
>saving ammo Where did this myth start? There's always more than enough ammo in all the classic REs to kill basically everything, not even counting the baby modes where they give you infinite shit at the start. Maybe don't watch "knife only" speedruns and use it as a basis for what the actual game plays like.
Parker Nguyen
RE6 has a ridiculous amount of qtes compared to 4 not to mention a ton of godawful vehicle sections
