How does Yas Forums feel about Valorant? Looks like it's going to be the next big fad, appealing to the CS, Siege, LoL, and OW audiences. I hate how every shooter is super competitive anymore though
How does Yas Forums feel about Valorant? Looks like it's going to be the next big fad, appealing to the CS, Siege, LoL...
I'm wondering when the BR fad itself will die out
>Looks like it's going to be the next big fad, appealing to the CS, Siege, LoL, and OW audiences
That's what you would think if you were some executive in a suit
Here's the reality: Nobody is going to switch from the game they already play to play this. It has basically no appeal to anyone.
Chink
>I'm wondering when the BR fad itself will die out
It's not a BR
oops
why wouldnt i just play overwatch?
>Nobody is going to switch from the game they already play to play this
Most people get sick of playing the same game all the time
the question is why would you ever play overwatch
does anyone actually play that abortion anymore?
top tier waifus but the game is incredibly super bad
It's free
>why wouldn't I just play paladins
because paladins is for koomers
If it has a functional anticheat I'll move from cs to it. cs is 95% hackers in all my matches unless I play on faceit, and if I play on faceit I have to deal with gigasweats playing like there's $5000 on the line every round.
Everyone I've seen talk about it from the cs perspective says it's guns are all cs guns down to the spray pattern, and it's movement tech (although slower) is just cs movement tech, straight to counter strafing. I think the ultimates are really the only big "thing" it has over anything else, all the abilities seem like variations on smoke/flash/aoe. that fire guy has a molotov, and a flash, and that wall that works like a smoke. The poison girl has a wall that works like a smoke, and a regular smoke, and uhhh, another smoke.
Healer girl has a non-damaging, but slowing molotov equivalent, and a wall.
The egregious one I thought would be that "wallhack" guy, but footage showing that you just blast the arrow, or better yet don't stand next to it and it's worthless is fine, I'm more bothered by the guy whose ultimate is a teleport that lets him get on top of the map geometry, since there's no skybox, if the maps aren't very carefully designed he could be on top of any roof with god tier angles and no one would ever think to look that high up. I saw a few people showing footage of it too so it's not like it wouldn't be known. But yeah, the ultimates are like the only thing I've even seen that aren't just bog standard cs gameplay. So I'm interested, but not really excited, given I probably won't get to play it for months. As if I'd sit around jerking off some streamer cunt for a CHANCE to get a key to play in the beta.
>why would you ever play overwatch
I enjoyed playing it solo until i realised i needed other people who communicated to win, so i stopped, it was fun though.
>cs is 95% hackers in all my matches
isnt there an overwatch system to handle this?
>Riot Games
its not really comparable to overwatch other than there is abilities, but the abilities are strongly linked in utility and a lot of it is gunplay
the better question is why wouldn't i just play CS? and the answer to that is.. i dunno. CS is fine. i'm looking forward to trying valorant.
Chink Shills out in full force today.
Siegefag here
This does not appeal to me
Yeah that's my big problem with OW, soloqueuing is essentially a slot machine
>why wouldn't i just play CS?
idk, because it comes down to "am i playing vs a hacker? i don't know" every game
i like the idea of a competitive hero shooter with some sort of fucking friction
ADADADADAD spam in Overwatch is so hard to deal with :(
PvE should fix the issue for people who want to enjoy the characters without the agony of slowly losing unwinnable games. With that said, just queuing in quick play classic usually gets you a good time.
i'm not too experienced with counter strike to know, honestly. i think i peaked around gold nova 3 and i just didn't really bother to climb. does CS seriously have that bad of a hacker problem? how bad is it at higher ranks?
Overwatch bans reported hackers. What does that do for me when I'm playing my matches? Nothing. I'm not buying the "we'll never have hackers cause our anticheat is sooooo good :^)" shit riot is spewing but literally anything is better than vac. I'm so fucking sick of it, and it only got worse with the f2p update.
Why would this appeal to LoL players? It's not even the same genre. Unless they just have some unyielding loyalty to riot games then they're not going to give a fuck, and league players hate riot because all they do is complain about the game they're addicted to.
It looks like trash and it doesn't have the titty skins and hot sluts that have kept League alive for years.
It'll probably do ok but it will be like that Blizzard Moba that died.
I think that Riot is chasing trends instead of taking the chance to develop their own style of shooter. It's very sad because the movement abilities could have made for a really good fast paced shooter instead of Counter-Watch:Champions.
WEEEEEELLL HELLO Yas ForumsALORANT!
IT'S TIME FOR THE NEXT BIG THING GAMING, A NEW GENRE IS BORN!
>does CS seriously have that bad of a hacker problem?
Teams in the larger prize pool tournaments have been caught hacking and lifetime shunned/banned from the CS scene, there are hackers at every level of the game.
because overwatch is casual garbage for tumblrites and coomers
im genuinely excited for valorant, mostly just because i was global in csgo and now i cant even break into DMG because of how good everyone else has gotten, really looking forward to shaking it up and being fresh again
I'll try it for a few days and then go back to league, just like I did with TFT and the card game
not everyone hates riot and people often enjoy more than one genre of games
it's basically brand loyalty, playing league and following the "scene" you end up getting exposed to all this valorant shilling
Yeah I think every shooter for the first half of this decade will be heavily inspired by either PUBG, CS:GO, or Overwatch, which is kind of upsetting. I miss casual shooters
>casual garbage
nothing wrong with being casual, i'm infinitely happier now than when i was playing with friends who only took me on the team because they couldn't string 5 people together,
Are you guys sitting next to each other while shilling this shit game? This thread is fucking infuriating to read.
FUCK OFF
Go look up "overwatch cases csgo" on youtube, and watch some ecelebs reviewing cases. The hacking is so fucking blatant, even as far back as 2016-2017, but even moreso nowadays since it went f2p. People don't care, there's no barrier to re-entry.
Its the new flavor of the month game.
>entering a thread just to shitpost about how mad you are
I think it looks kind of cool from the one video I saw although the visuals on the area of effect abilities are a little bland. It's probably going to be very popular for a very long time.
What arguments can we make about this game that aren't muh chinks and muh "company I don't like"?
Overwatch is a contradiction, it's gameplay is casual as hell but it has killed itself by focusing on competitive gameplay
That doesn't answer the question at all
The argument in the post above yours is the only valid one I have seen, everything else is just desperate reaching to avoid admitting that this game is going to be a hit.
Half these threads eventually just turn into chink accident webms.
I'm not going to just call it outright shit, but...it's Tencent. Chinese don't innovate, they imitate. I'm not holding my breath. What I've seen looks like a really sluggish CS with fortnight graphics and abilities that replace utility. Youtubers that have some actual authority on the matter(like actual high level CS players) have said that the ultimates are a lot flashier than they have any right to be, meaning they don't actually effect the game that much and take a long time to charge, the other abilities that replace utility have to be bought from the buy menu before the round, so they can't just be spammed and used to cheese.
My biggest concern is this anticheat AI they claim to have. Valve has been working on an anticheat AI for the better part of a decade, and it's still nowhere near done, even with the ability to draw on hundreds of thousands of CS games a week to learn with. And now Riot claims they have something that's so good it will know to immediately shut down a match when a cheater is detected? The spinbotters aren't the issue, the issue is the people with softwalls and aimlocks that know how to go undetected and take an actual human with a high level of knowledge of the game to know if they have more information than they should, no AI can do that.
At the end of the day, despite the marketing and massive shill campaign, it's a Chinese game. Chinese do not produce quality products, so we'll see how this turns out.
It's extremely slow paced compared to other competitive games. Not having all characters unlocked immediately is going to fuck them over. Watching it is pretty boring. Half the abilities are just "wall/smoke this section off" and then hope their team doesn't rush it.
Most of the arguments I see relate to abilities being overpowered, ignoring that you have to pay for them and they're limited use per round. I have two big concerns.
1:you have to pay for characters, people have revealed this but no one has shown the shop screen, meaning riot probably asked them not to, big red flag. It means they plan on adding more characters in the future. You can get them with ingame currency but who the fuck knows how they'll balance acquisition of it. League's IP system was fucking horrendous.
2:you can't have dupe agents on a team, so get ready to rev up that instalock for the character you enjoy/are practiced with. Just a terrible idea because it reinforces this terrible mindset that playing with randoms is impossible and shouldn't even be attempted. I get it, normalfags are everywhere. But if I want to try playing with randoms and maybe build some sort of camradery, let me. Don't force me to get buttfucked because I get 2 phoenix mains and one ragequits or teamkills every round because the other one locked it faster. And that WILL happen. I'd not be surprised if it happens in the fucking beta on tuesday.
Yes it does
this game is the most anime-y bullshit I've ever seen
>arrrrgh why are you discussing videogames on a videogame board
It really doesn't, none of that is "appealing to the LoL audience"
>Lawbreakers 2
all of these posts shitting on the game without even mentioning the fucking gameplay. eat a cock fags
I don't feel like most league players are following the scene anymore. If that were true they all would have quit for CS, OW, Fortnite and whatever the fuck else years ago but most play almost exclusively league and a few single player games, at least from my observations and friends playing it.
>my csgo clone with riot character design (everyone is asian or half black)
no thanks, I'm not gonna even try it
this game looks so fucking slow
zoomers love this "art style"
>PvE should fix the issue for people who want to enjoy the characters without the agony of slowly losing unwinnable games.
I doubt PVE's gonna be anything other than essentially just WoW Raids but with steroids.
>the gameplay
it's csgo
but less skill based
woaw
Looks like a shitty version of existing games but a lot of smoothbrains will switch to it like they did with Apex since they are paying every streamer to play it.
i haven't seen a single instance where someone has outright said "i like these graphics"
What is appealing to the league audience to you? Do you really think a game like hots is "appealing to league players"?
This game is appealing to league players not through mechanics but through advertising. League players often follow the twitter/twitch personalities which are constantly talking about this game, hence why it had E3-level viewership during an event that showed fucking recorded, not even live, gameplay
>more depth
>less skill based
retard
What is Apex similar to though? It is clearly its own thing.
I heard a streamer say friendly fire is disabled, so there's that
Thanks for the actual answers anons
not about liking, it's about the subconcious and manipulative patterns that makes zoomer brains go "good game"
It's the fortnite/LoL washed out color palette
