How the fuck did we go from a fast paced "shoot it till it dies" while dodging enemy attacks, and having some items laying around

too shoot it till it starts glowing and have .250 of a second to decide on getting HP/armor/ammo.

oops I accidentally shot the demon one too many times with the machinegun or plasma rifle and it died so I cant glory kill for a meaningfull amount of health.

oops I didn't research before playing the game and use some optimized broken build and cheese with the flamehook SSG.

Games have to evolve eventually homie. The changes they've added are welcome and add another layer to the Doom gameplay loop. Play on a harder difficulty it's a good time.
