Tried one match of it. I was playing marauder and the other dude was playing archvile.
None of us knew what we were doing so the doomguy just ran around in circles while we spammed demons at him until he died.

It's a neat mode but I have no idea what they were thinking making it the main feature of multiplayer.

Yeah, if it was one game mode id probably play it once and drop it, but they made this a selling point. Locking trophies behind it is making me hate it more

it's because they took the feedback of 2016 multiplayer being garbage and decided it meant "deathmatch is totally played out, daddyo. we want new innovative game modes, not standard modes but made well"
