2 is the best in the series. 1 has terrible hit boxes, shitty programming all around that has you backstab an enemy only for it to fail but if they shove their sword through your chest it counts as a backstab. The boss turns 180º and attacks and suddenly you're teleported to their sword and you're dead, and for some fucking reason they wanted the realism meme of hitting your sword on the wall every time you swing in corridors, despite being able to plunge attack a giant demon from the top of a skyscraper.

2 fixed all those issues and amped the difficulty as to balance things out, thus, filtering every faggot in the world right in the first boss. 3 was alright but it was just 2 with a stamina bar.

I don't know how they turned it around so hard but yeah I think Scholar actually placed a benchmark that 3 got close too reaching but didn't quite make it.

2 is undoubtedly garbage in its PvE. the main focus of the game was certainly the PvP, its multiplayer was supported and patched very frequently, Dark Souls 3 got similar treatment post-release but it was still just a smash and grab game with no soul.

all souls games, and all other games like them, are intrinsically reddit. dark souls 2 is no exception.

Dark souls 3 took everything good in BB and Demons Souls and expanded it. Deal with it. It also has the most fun online of all the games if you don’t count nostalgia which is what edges DaS1 out over 3 for me.

DS3 is a full regression from BB. What the fuck are you on about. The combat in DS3 is worse, the bosses are worse, the aesthetics are worse, the atmosphere and immersion are non-existant, the OST is worse, the game is more linear, the replay value is lower, the level design is worse, the world is worse, the game is far less inspired and very derivative etc etc DS3 is trash

After replaying 2 I can't call it the best in the series anymore, but I still don't think it deserves all the hate. It's got some janky moments but I do enjoy it a lot, I just think I would place it below Demon's now, next to 1.

4 years and 2 games worth of improvement should pay off a lot. Considering the engine switch to bloodborne and ds3 that allowed a lot of the wackier shit enemies can do know it makes sense. Look at how comparatively lame artorias is to someone like gael too

DS2 is one of those rare instances where I literally don't care about arguments in its favor. You could show mountains of evidence but nothing will change how underwhelming and unpolished it felt.
