Nioh 2 has made me hungry for more Souls games but I heard mixed things about this one...
Code Vein: Is it worth it?
It's shit. Do not buy
yeah but i heard it has titties
Hoe. You can look at anime tiddies anywhere else. They are not even good tits. They barely tried in this fan service garbage pile.
The final bossfight pulls the most artistically pleasing shit I've ever seen done before in a video game.
Its alright if you like anime styled stuff, but the DLC is dogshit.
yeah I was going to ask about the deluxe edition, i see it has some costume
very solid 8/10
don't buy at full price but still a good game to get
Its pretty cool. The game let you swap builds on the fly and you recover mana with hits so even mage builds need to go there.
Seconding this. I enjoyed it a ton, but the DLC is massively overpriced.
It was one of my favorite games last year. That said, I don't recommend it to a Soulsborne / Nioh veteran who wants more like them.
Code Vein is pretty much "my first Souls-like".
So it's easy then? I wouldn't mind a casual experience after Nioh 2
It's hard enough for the average simp, but if you know your way around vidya you'll probably figure things out rather early and have an overall easy time.
You can choose to go with a companion or leave them at home. I can't comment much on soulslike difficulty since I've only played a tiny bit of dark souls/Nioh but playing with a companion felt like a nice training wheels introduction to the genre while playing solo was fairly challenging to me.
It is a rather easy experience with a companion, sometimes there will be challenges even with them helping you but in the end, it is an ok experience, and should only be bought in the intent to enjoy effectively a piece of candy that's currently overpriced for how little it has to offer.
'Easy' is a loaded term.
You get an AI companion that's actually very solid, and the game is balanced around them (e.g. bosses are very aggressive, to the point that you'll rarely get a chance to heal unless you have a companion to take the heat for a while). Also, all of your stats are tied to your Blood Code, which you can swap freely; leveling up just increases health, stamina, a bit of damage, and so on. This means that you can swap to whatever build you want to for a given boss or area.
If you want to ramp up the difficulty, you can forego having a companion. You can also try to stick with certain builds instead of switching all the time. Some people do Level 1 runs, where you never level up, and even regular enemies can one-shot you in later areas.
Otherwise, it can be as easy as you want; you can summon an additional companion alongside your AI one, and take it relatively easily.
The cosmetics are fine, though the Mia Alt and blood code with it are of decent interest, but ultimately feels like they were cut from the game to be sold separately to make us pay more for it. Especially since you will notice a gap otherwise in some spells lacking an elemental type if you are the completionist sort.
Probably the best feature of this game is how easy and enjoyable it is to be able to make use of any and all classes and intermixing them as you desire to within select limitations. That has been the one feature that I enjoyed the most out of it that needs to be adapted in more games like this.
Another thing I loved about it was how you could find new weapons and veils that are already leveled adequately to where you should be in the game as you play, and from it continue the ability to try new things as you see fit. I was baffled as to why no one has considered this when making souls-borne games.
It's bad.
From what I understand, it's an okay soulsborne game but has some really shitty DLC.
Like picture a single Bloodborne chalice dungeon as a $7 DLC
it sucks, don't bother
uninstalled the other day
I've Platinum'd Dark Souls, Dark Souls 3 and BloodBorne, and I currently own Dark Souls 2, NiOh and The Surge that I still have to finish, but im curious about the most current Soulslike games that have been released, among NiOh 2, Code: Vein and The Surge 2 which one is the best and which one is the worst?
>going from Nioh 2 to this
All you are going to get is a whiplash in terms of quality.
I went from Nioh to this and everything was so stiff and clunky that it became unappealing
It's a very good game.
Please play this game with Japanese voices, Mia actually sounds like a cute nubile girl instead of a 40 year old post-wall white hag.
Its a pretty good game. I liked it enough to beat it, at least. Its about the same quality as nioh, better than remnant from the ashes, not as good as actual souls games.
>No sekiro the hardest of them all
Faggot, and unlike DS, sekiro has no artificial difficulty.
There are some difficulty spikes here and there but the game is still pretty easy even without companions.
That said, don't bother with it. I still have to see a Souls / Nioh / Surge fan who enjoyed Code Vein, and the people that enjoyed it were ones that never played a Soulslike before.
It's good. Avoid the dlc unless its on sale.
its anime dark sous with tits and co-op, but no invasions/pvp
i enjoyed it but recommend only on sale
Best: The Surge 2. It's the closest to an actual From Souls game.
Worst: Code Vein. Literal shovelware tier.
Nioh 2, like the first game, floats on its own puddle of mediocrity. Not being offensively bad but still not being a game worth playing.
>Surge2fags still seething Code Vein was a better game and wasn't forgotten after 5 minutes of its release
You guys need to let go. Seriously. I get you're upset that Surge 3 is gonna be a struggle installment while Code Vein 2 will be the closest thing we get to Bloodborne quality, but c'mon. Just accept it.
it was a best seller on Steam so I'd say you should give it a try
SEETHING
Pretty game but by god is this true. It honestly feels like that DLC was just so they can check off on some list of necessary things to do before probably never doing anything else with the property ever again.
wut is that anin I beat code vein and idk what you're talking about user-son
I'd say the only issue with this is how garbage the multiplayer stability is from what I last remember. My friend and I tried to co-op through the Towers and instead of enjoying it, we ended up boiling in pure rage over how laggy and unplayable it gets for the non-host player.
worth it up to and right after the cathedral of the sacred blood
There is nothing wrong with Animu Londo. Get some sense of direction. The teleporter bitches were more of a pain in the ass
It's a pretty cool game.
But the titties are the worst part, shit looks absurd at times.
when your silent protagonist speaks for the first time
oh yeaaa that was awesome I remember that now
Good character creation, everything else is shit, especially the combat.
Code Vein has decent level design and approach to builds. It's worth playing if you want a Souls-like.
Avoid the DLC, though. That was 100% a product of the "cheapness over quality" budget dev mindset.
They did that in God Eater too.
just like in every single God Eater game
Code vein was pretty fun but I regret buying the deluxe edition/season pass because the DLC has been fucking ass.
But the God Eater games have the protagonist speak a lot in-game
God eater protag only says one, maybe two lines per game.
I don't think it's worth full price, wait for sale.
just generic combat shouts, nothing in cutscenes except for one part near the very end
naw I meant the combat shouts too. It was cool in CV that I hadn't heard my character's voice up until the very final boss.
It's pretty decent, but ultimatelly just filler.
It's a literal dark souls ripoff and you'll fall asleep playing it within the first hour. If you're gonna get it, just pirate it first on PC. It's fucking garbage and so is the DLC lmao
I regret buying the european Collector Edition because the figurine can't be assembled.
It costed me 85 euros and all there's inside to fucking box is that crappy figurine, some codes for the digital OST and the game. It's one of my most shamefull purchases.
It's decent, but not really anything special.
>tfw no character creator with Black Desert Online body morphing and Code Vein hair customization
Buy Io’s game.
The demo is complete shit.
No idea if it's a good representation of the game.
It doesn't. Tits were censored and the breast slider was removed.
>Tits were censored
Where?
>the breast slider was removed.
You've got a physique slider which makes the whole body bigger or smaller, including the breasts.
Physique slider is shit though. I want my tall and flat animu girl.
