fuck off and kys shill

kek

clean your fingernails Alyx!

I dig the way the interactable machines work. Not enough multitool use desu.

>imagine bioshock receiving this treatment
>being able to use plasmids "for real"
fund it

>actually digging trash for EVE

Why are people impressed just because you can pick up objects that you can do nothing with?

You could pick up objects in previous Half Lifes and actually do shit with them. Even "pick up that can" has more too it than this pre rehearsed set dialogue and set pathways. What's funny is VR should make every players play through unique somewhat. But it's just all scripted moments etc. It's shite. And they butchered the Half Life story with it.

Or is it just buyers remorse.

Someone's going to make a pov full body model of alyx and do a masterbation mod right?

I cannot wait for the immersive sim genre to move to VR
it was fucking made for it

The game seems good so far but definitely feels like its trying to be half life 2 but with Alyx. It could go either way but seems like an 8 to me.

The VR tech itself? This is my first vr game and I have to say VR is overrated to high heaven and back lol. It's more of a side grade than anything. Half Life Alyx would be just as good in a stand alone non-vr game. The vr in this feels like a gimmick and most of the interactions in the game could have been done in a HL3 without VR. I have an index and am a mega half life fan not a mega vr fan.

This just cements my opinion further. VR is not ready yet. It's a meh experience and try again in 30 years.

in my playthrough i picked the little action figure on the back, not the cup

>What's funny is VR should make every players play through unique somewhat. But it's just all scripted moments etc.
the objectives are scripted, not what you do

>And they butchered the Half Life story with it.
maybe they did but i don't care about half life

post pic of headset with timestamp

>those sausage fingers

Isn't it just a slow shooter with dumb AI? I haven't played it but that's how it is from what I've seen. I mean, it's good for what it is but do you really want other games to turn into this? Does being able to pick objects and see your hands REALLY worth sacrificing the fast paced run and gun gameplay? Would a fast paced shooter like Half Life even work in VR, wouldn't it just fuck up your senses?

I don't think it's good. It has mediocre gameplay based on collecting shit and shooting dumb bullet sponge enemies. Beyond that the interaction with the environment is lacking - I found the physics based puzzles in Boneworks more enjoyable. The story itself is pretty sparse beyond the ending at which point they merely come full circle to retcon Episode 2.
If you now think at how much variety and technology Half-Life 1 and its expansion introduced back in their days and compare that to Alyx' lackluster contribution to the VR genre it becomes pretty clear that the game doesn't live from anything but fanboy hype and association with the Half-Life franchise - for which it is a medicore entry. 7/10 at best.

>I found the physics based puzzles in Boneworks more enjoyable.
those puzzles fucking sucked because the physics fucking sucked
it was more tedious than not

Stop please

I'm not spending over 1000 for a single video game

odyssey is $250 m8

>maybe they did but i don't care about half life
FUCK YOU! You pieces of shit are why game franchises are constantly ruined!

Using your entire body to play an FPS requires enough coordination that you don't need to be circle-strafing at 30mph for it to be fun.

yes

>I haven't played
>from what I've seen
lmao fucking kys

So you don't have forearms in this game? After animating each finger individually, it can't be that hard to animate a fucking forearm.

it's confusing as fuck because they're almost never in the same position as your real arms

>no melee
>because there is no melee, if you ever run out of ammo you are soft locked in the game
>only 3 weapons, of which have very limited and useless upgrades (literally no point in taking reflex sight when you unlock laser sight)
>cannot use more than one weapon at a time
>no actual jumping
>no sprinting
>objects in the environment have very limited intractability (ie, lighting a lighter or spraying the can of paint)
>puzzles are a fucking bore and incredibly easy
>very limited physics based puzzles on SOURCE 2 POINT FUCKING 0 ENGINE
>very limited enemy variety
>dumb as rocks enemies that often times won't move when a live grenade is next to them
>ending retcons previous games
>no vehicles you can use
>incredibly linear to the point that the game could have been a ride-the-rails shooter
>not enough resin to upgrade all your weapons
>very small enemy engagements, typically 3-4 enemies
>zombies and antlions are incredibly slow to match your slow speed
Fuck, how can anyone even pretend like this game was anything above "meh"?

Probably because they played it while you were watching it on youtube.

Feels more like it's trying to be RE4 instead of Half-Life

hehehe

I'm not that far in yet. I'm just totally underwhelmed by VR after all the shilling it going the internet.

Yeah but that means the gameplay will be slow and different. It worked for Alyx since it's a spin-off, and it would work for new IPs too but is turning already existing series into a completely different thing really a good idea?
that's why I'm asking, instead of shitposting about someting I don't know like a retard

>Yeah but that means the gameplay will be slow and different. It worked for Alyx since it's a spin-off, and it would work for new IPs too but is turning already existing series into a completely different thing really a good idea?
The game doesn't feel like something completely different, it is exactly like you'd expect a VR half life game to play, and it's pretty fun

how about giving a good game that deserves it this treatment instead of bioshock?

>So you don't have forearms in this game?
yes, you're a literal rayman. there is no colision

>it can't be that hard to animate a fucking forearm.
you mean simulated. skyim has a mod that simulate the elbows, but it is inaccurate because it is impossible to predict where your arms are at all times, and that's probably why valve chose not to implement their own solution
youtube.com/watch?v=PbRpP3RgMmE
we need full body tracking for accurate body presence. we don't have that yet.

>then what is this 14:30
Is this your first video game ever?
>Pick an object and place it in a designated spot to trigger dialogue
This is literally the exact same thing as pick up that can in hl2
Literally

Good counter argument. Cope harder, faggot. Thank God I didn't pay a penny for the game.

>Why are people impressed just because you can pick up objects that you can do nothing with?
It's not about feature of being able to pick up shit it's about what that feature does for the immersion and environmental storytelling. I don't fucking understand how no one gets it on this board. You guys deserve the current state of video game industry with all the cinematic over the shoulder bullshit from sony.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I'd like to see a real pro playing Sairento with all the slowmo turned off

Oh I played it. I got it for free. I bought an index and refunded it and they let me keep the game.

You should just sell off your HMD before everyone realizes the truth and the price tanks :^)

Sure thing, poorfat.

Yeah, I think this and walking/movement are the biggest limitations in VR right now.

your point was that i "couldn't do shit" with those objects

The Super VR Club. Only few get to be in it.

Counter my arguments, brainlet shill.

Not until you stop being poor (and fat).

t. fat people that sweat too much for their headsets to seat properly seethe over a game they had to watch a le tsplayer play

Thanks for the easy victory, shill.

When does the Workshop get unlocked?
I really wanna see what people create for this game.

I don't understand the poorfag meme. As a poorfag myself, I wouldn't be able to play the game even if it was a normal PC game because poorfags have low-end PCs. The game being a VR game wouldn't make a difference for poorfags.

I'll jam a chestnut in your dickhole. I'll jam a chestnut in your dickhole until it swells up and you can't piss anymore, then I'll rape your in your fat, hairy ass until all your cum gets trapped in your cock shaft. I'll lock you in a cage and masturbate furiously as your semen slowly festers inside your cock hole while the dirty chestnuts infect your dickhole with several soil borne pathogens. I'll watch as your cock rots away from the cummy chesnuts and spreads to the rest of your body and I'll laugh.

Sorry pancake, but it was actually me who won. I forgive the misunderstanding and wish you well in future internet debates.

>is turning already existing series into a completely different thing really a good idea?

Yes. Half-Life exists to innovate. That's why we're not playing Half-Life 9 right now and it would be as tired as Halo.

>suggesting a shitty headset

I really wanted a 1 shot kill sniper type weapon.
