too much gameplay, the girl was too hot
The devsa had no clear vision as to what the fuck Infinite was meant to be in the first place. Also the lead creative director Ken Levine, went up his own arse, and paraded around his terrible time travel/dimension hopping story as some magnum opus of the video game medium.
Immersives sims/451 games just suck ass. I can count the number of good games in that genre on three fingers.
the gameplay was 1995 tier
It was a literal "cinematic experience" meme but formed into a retail game. Also i don't think FPS shooters from 1995 took away complete control from the player like this does and then has the audacity to say: Muh fatalism chose to take away control from you because we clearly don't have good game designers on the team.
puzzles too hard, plot too ambitious
Post the puzzle video
Shit story and gameplay aside, I applaud Irrational Games for making the video game equivalent of a replicant test. If you like it, it means you have no capacity to understand what makes a game actually good.
Nothing, the game was gorgeous and simple. Experienced players were disappointed because they wanted something deeper than BS and not as fucked as BS2.
BSI was made for everyone, and while the plot wasn't totally there, and the tearing gimmick wore off, it was still a well told and beautifully made game.
Also, Kevin coming back blew up the hype train, so people had ridiculous expectations.
wait a minute, that video......
This game is so Reddit-tier that the fandom's Bioshock subreddit is still guzzling Levine's cum even if it has been seven years since release.
Ken Levine
I'm curious to know your opinion. Which ones would those be?

A game for intelligent gamers
>sets up racist society
>proves them right
The plot went stupid at the end.
A few of the gameplay mechancs were poorly thought out.
The harder difficulties were poorly balanced.
That said I like the game and prefer it to the other bioshock games.
Uninspired. Weak allusions to slavery. Massive downgrades
>poople had the ridiculous expectations of a good game
Woah...
Wait a minute.... that card
Yas Forums did. I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Fuck OP and fuck Yas Forums.
What is Ken's infatuation with killing the player character?
Ir's the George R. R. Martin school of ending a character's arc.
The bonus challenge difficulty was brain dead easy.
The developers themselves are to blame for hyping this game up the kazoo, and then they pulled a Colonia Marines tier of a switcheroo on launch.
He thought of himself as some profound pseudo-intellectural. who thought that killing the main character is some high art-tier of storytelling. I mean if it's done well it works, but the way this game did it seems like something out of a straight up parody.
None of the characters say nigger, which they should have, constantly
It's my favorite Bioshock game because it feels the least ass to play. I went back go play 1+2 afterwards and I couldn't stomach more than an hour of each.
Should've been 3rd person.
This will never not be funny to me.
The only real critic that the game deserve is that Burial at Sea shouldn't be a DLC. If it was in the game by default, as an epilogue chapter (without being in two parts), it would be one of the best game of the decade.
But due to the economical model, it was impossible.
Infinite is nothing without Burial at Sea.
how does that add to the gameplay? the enemies aren't even black
>500267835
(You)
>one of the best game of the decade.
>Infinite is nothing without Burial at Sea.
And here I thought there couldn't be a worse opinion than "Infinite good".
Burial At Sea practically makes Infinite worse and somehow manages to ruin the first two games as well in the process....How is that even remotely good?
it wasn't a bad game it was just a bad bioshock game
>sets up a white ethnostate in the sky
>brings blacks with them
Why?
>Also the lead creative director Ken Levine, went up his own arse, and paraded around his terrible time travel/dimension hopping story as some magnum opus of the video game medium.
This.
the game story is a fucking nonsensical bullshit made by someone that never read anything sci fi related but pretended to write a big sci fi story with both time travel and parallel universe in it, two of the ahrdest things to use in sci fi.
same issue Rapture had, you still need the lower class and some sort of strawman for the people to preoccupy themselves with
>tfw she sings at the end
Never been so nostalgic about a game I just played during a credit roll.
>the gameplay was 1995 tier
I wish, but shield regen and only two weapon to carry is a xbox 360 tier bullshit.
>BSI was made for retard console players
FIFY
Based
lolno. burial at sea is the worst part of the series
>If you like it, it means you have no capacity to understand what makes a game actually good
Exactly this, if someone say that like this game i instantly dicard every single opinion he has on any kind of videogame or story in movies, books and so on.
It set up a really cool setting that would be fun to explore and experience...and then proceeded to make it a linear, 'cinematic' slog
It set up a cool idea with Elizabeth's powers...and did a boring father/daughter reveal shit with it.
It set up a cool antagonist in the Songbird...and did jack shit with it.
All in service to a very predictable and shitty plot.
Shouldn't have been a Bioshock game.
Irrational clearly want to make a fun shooter in the skies and shouldn't have kept up the pretense that it had anything to do with Bioshock.
>tfw after scrapping and rewriting the plot several hundred times you forget the game is called Bioshock so you have to write some BS teleporting into the epilogue
>It set up a cool antagonist in the Songbird...and did jack shit with it.
This is the most infuriating thing for me.
The design and the music of the songbird is one of the most charming thing in recent videogame history, and yet it was completely wasted in boring sneaking sequence and only cinematic scripted chase and ended up as a gimmick in the final level and died just to cocksuck Bioshock 1 fans.
this still give me chills after many years:
youtube.com
>Shouldn't have been a Bioshock game
It basically isnt untill the randomly teleporting ending.
Also id toesnt make sense to teleport into Rapture, because there are something like 50 years of difference between Bioshock 1 and Infinite, and since when Elizabeth can even time travel? The whole point of the game is that she can open portal to other reality but every time she does it the portal is always at the Elisabeth present time, only for Rapture the portal travel 50 years in the future vitout any explanation.
So if elizabeth is basically just a god, how come she manages to get out fucking skilled by fontaine?
Excet that the two DLC do not make sense after the Infinite ending. they can't exist after that ending, and if they exist, the the ending of the game mean literally nothing and the whole story become pointless and meaningless.
>and since when Elizabeth can even time travel?
Did you forget when you meet her and she opens a port to Paris where Star Wars Episode VI is premiering and an ambulance almost kills her?
Isn't opening a portal to the future one of the first things you see her do? Considering it's set in the early 90s and she opens a portal to paris with a star wars movie playing that came out like 70 years later?
>Star Wars Episode VI
What? Really?
But yea, i fotgot the ambulance point, so she is a literal god then? If yes then the whole gam is even more bullshit than before.
In the main game it's
>something something the giant statue is holding my powers back
Then in the DLC it's
>something something the Big Daddy killing me fucked with my powers
It was an AU where the title of the movie was Revenge of the Jedi, which was the OG title before Lucas changed it to Return because he thought revenge wasn't the Jedi way
>so she is a literal god then?
I think they explain it away as her being inside the tower at the time. Still doesn't explain why she didn't just fucking cross the portal.
>Experienced players were disappointed because they wanted something deeper than BS and not as fucked as BS2.
They wanted something at least as deep as BS
>Still doesn't explain why she didn't just fucking cross the portal
Because if she did it then the game whould have never existed, duh.
Adds to the world, which is supposedly heavily racist
subtle
The plot was written by someone with hallucinogens in his veins and a cock in his ass.
