You ARE working on your game, right?
You ARE working on your game, right?
About to be broke as fuck when my tileset and character designer guy finishes on the current order though I will now have one jailbait bunny boy party member.
Anyone else submitting their game to Yas Forums3?
No, between my demetia and depression is near impossible to make anything that requires more than day of work.
Better excuse than the "too many ideas" guy
in the same time it would take to make an absolute garbage piece of shit no one will ever play it game I could be more productive posting on Yas Forums
Weren't you that guy who paid 200 bucks for a reskin RPG Maker tileset?
I'm writing the dialong right now, but I normally spend 2 hours in a single text box
I'm gonna be a doctor in a few years why would I
Why yes
Why wouldn't you?
I'm being a big dummy again over switches.
What I want to happen here is the seperation of the party member to turn into an NPC that we talk to. But what happens now is the NPC is already sitting and is in the party and then disappears from the 'change party member event to off) then move to where I want the character to be.
that first textbox just doesn't read well
Originally I was working on the features for a RoR clone, as I was implementing them, I played with the idea of making a dungeon crawler, akin to Ultima Underworld and Arx Fatalis, however, that would go beyond my current scope, so I went back to RoR clone.
I'm feeling much better now.
Nigga why?
Yeah I messed up that too.
Why don't you just try this:
>NPC sitting in the chair is invisible also set to through
>When you trigger the cutscene, have the party member walk to that spot and with a wait command and then turn on the switch to reveal the NPC
>remove the party member
money to burn and he is pretty easy to reach, one thing you learn fast is you are willing to pay more if the fag is willing to cooperate and not ghost you during orders
I've only acrobatics mechanic to add and then i'll put it away and continue on my game.
Looks neat user
Paying for fucking tilesets is retarded though, plus your RPGmaker game looks generic as fuck. No one is gonna play that
I don't even know how to code or where to get started in programming as a whole, there's too much of everything
Nice Xena, makes me remeber of her PS1 game and her first person halo
Good luck trying to find anyone who will make you tilesets for free
Kind of, picked up blender again for models and shaping up to do so some level designs, but I don't actually have a game, kinda hoping I will get picked up by someone when I actually become useful in any way.
Making tilesets is the least of your game's problems but eh, do what you can.
Yeah doing some environmental design for my horror game
man, it's been so long since I've watched Xena. What are you planning for the game?
You can just mess with them on photoshop. It seems from your image that it's just a side clif tile with a slight different pattern and painted purple
Yeah, that game still looks real nice, unlike the PS2 one.
game dev classifieds
I mean you aren't wrong
That is the case, there are a few others but with this babylon plugin its weird adding in more tiles to a wall with how it generates
looks legit
I fixed it.
It's just a prototype i've made, the idea was to make it feel like them olde Tomb Raider games, but with better controls and Xena sensibilities.
I'm working on a JoJo's fangame and it's been kinda comfy
No. Even when I am quarantined, and working from home, I am STILL not motivated to work on my game.
How do I make this mortal vessel do things? I just don't do things. I haven't gotten anything done for a decade.
Looks neat user what are the tiles from they seem familiar
they look like RPGMakerMV tiles. Are they not?
congratz user
Look awesome. What's the plot of your game?
Did the guy who made the tileset at least change it enough for you not to be sued by Enterbrain if you try to use the game for commercial purposes?
You stop acting like a bitch and force yourself to work like all the other people.
Some do but there are a mix of either DLC tiles or custom tiles
I wish.
I don't know how to code.
Half of them are imported from the VX wild west dlc, and some of the buildings were used with NuraRay tilesets
>how do i force myself
>just force yourself lol
>just not be sick
>just be tall
>just not be dead
>just do that thing that you cant make yourself be or do
>>>
Ah
learn it with Game Maker Studio. It has drag and drop functions, and while you can't really make anything interesting with them, they help you learn GML, which is good enough for almost any 2D game.
It's a comedy horror game called The Walking Fish 2: Final Frontier.
The plot is that you're a person sent out in a spaceship to explore the outer reaches of space. In the spaceship you've rested inside a cryo-tube for over 500 years when suddenly you awaken from your sleep.
You quickly notice that all the other cryo-tubes are empty and that there's no other crew members to be found on the ship. But as you'll find out there's something extremely fishy going on...
>Excuses excuses excuses
I have no patience for lazy and unmotivated people. If you can't even set aside 1-2 hours of your day to work on shit, then you either have some sort of mental illness or you're just lazy, probably the latter.
You are locked home user. Just start reading some tutorials and watch some videos
>how do i do X
>"just do X"
>this is bad advice
>"i have no patience for lazy bums"
>>>>
>looking at GMS2 tutorials
>see tutorials for a different engine in the recommended tab
>decide to check out that engine
>"looks neat. I guess I'll mess around with this one for a bit!"
>end up with a thousand backburner projects on random engines that nobody's heard of
Every goddamn time.
I've done alot of game-dev related stuff, and most of my foundation is built on UE4/Blueprints. I know my way around the engine (sort-of). GM is really cool but I haven't really taken a look at it for awhile. But with these tutorials i watch for UE4 and stuff, I feel as if I'm going too ahead of myself by doing 3d first, mainly because i drop every tutorial i try doing. Maybe it's time to check on GM again, though.
You are right, it's just personally hard for me to stay invested in online stuff, I'm more of a hands-on offline kind of guy. But I do have no room to complain, I've got a bunch of resources available to me.
Not him, but we can't do too much about your lack of motivation, that's something you need to obtain somehow. Some people read/watch/play a lot to get inspired and motivated, others just start experimenting with random shit so they find something cool and start turning it into an actual game.
what is the dark souls of amateur game dev engines seriously i've always wanted to make a souls ripoff
