Well it's not an amazing game so far, but it is pretty fun. Definitely worth the $9 neetbucks I dropped on it. The little gravity cat is the cutest thing ever, but Kat herself actually apparently stinks.
All this time I thought people were making that up.

Treasure hunt is dead, I think. They shut down the goddamn servers.
But the game is still top notch fun. Traversal, as this guy said, is damn fun. Soundtrack and overworld are ridiculously comfy. Characters are lovable. Story might confuse you for a little bit as it's a sequel but it stands alone just fine after you get to understand the character relationships. Combat is a little wonky but once you really learn the controls it's fine.
Also, Kat is best girl in all of vidya.

Loads of zanny characters, helping them with their goofy situations, fantasy cityscapes that look like what you used to imagine as a kid and colorful fun for your eyes and ears which can be rare in modern videogames.

Not sure if this is the same thing but you reminded me of the trope where you have a 'strong' female character, and it turns out the reason why she's so strong is because she was either emotionally, physically, or sexually abused at one or multiple points.
I don't know if that's a thing with the japs, but it seems to pop up very often here. Luckily Gravity Rush at least seems like a happy place without all that jank. Kat is happy.

The games have such a cool concept, but they clearly struggle to come up with missions to make use of it. Most of them are "point here and fall that way" or "lol no using your powers, this is a trial and error stealth mission again!"

Well, I'm still only in the starting area with Lisa. I just did the quest where you have to collect all the ducks.
It's pretty comfy, but not a lot of places to have fun. Also, am I the only one who likes Syd? He's a pretty glorious bastard.

She's 100% a japanese superhero akin to a sentai. Incorruptible always doing the right thing, shining justice and all that but she doesn't fuck up innocents in order to achieve world peace so to speak. There isn't really any grit in GR and it's very refreshing.
For example there's that whole undertone of rich against poor so of course she helps the poor and downtrodden but she doesn't go on a crusade against the 1%, she helps the richfags as well with their weird issues because she's a hero and that's a message of hope that things can get better.
In the end those rich jerks are humbled though.

I still like it - I've been jonesin for a change of pace for games. Since last summer all I've had was Spider-Man PS4, and then FO3 and New Vegas recently. This is a good pallet cleanser.

Worry not, the first game is horrible compared to this one. You've already played this, don't touch the first one. The second one is improved in literally every single way. If you're curious about the story just watch it on YouTube.

I was never able to unsee that chunk of shadow clipping into view it's kind of ugly. GR2 has these rendering issues and no one can lie about them not being there but the game is amazing despite the not-ideal performances.

it's in the Delvool mines, which is kinda of like the challenge mode/Bloody Palace of the game
some floors are just different enemy challenges and some floors are boss fights
it's the only way to fight Raven with all 3 gravity styles
you can also fight Kali one on one without Raven in the Delvool mine version

I'm not sure how you read that i conflated games and reality in my post or why you assumed so much about what's going on in my head but since you seem interested about who i am i'm usually the guy that tries to remind people that videogame charactesr are written as characters by people and do not have agency of their own.
In GR2 the rich are humbled by some gravity monster, my point was it wasn't Kat that was made to humbled them.
