Fuck you Yas Forums for telling me the Nioh series was a "shitty weeb version of Darksouls" I've been playing this game for 2 days now and it's already shown me how simplistic and braindead easy the soul series is.
Fuck you Yas Forums for telling me the Nioh series was a "shitty weeb version of Darksouls" I've been playing this game...

Abe no semi set is best set
I quit playing for awhile, game got too grindy. I think the enemy layouts are kinda lazy dogshit, too many gaki and enki.
It's better than Souls but Yas Forums is full of Fromdrones who only got into the Souls series for fake "gamer cred", looking at architecture and writing a headcanon plot out of item descriptions.
>this time I will make a spooky shinobi ninja
>end up using the odachi and refashinging everything I wear into the Shrine Maiden set
everytime
Is 3kat a thing in this one too
>Fuck you Yas Forums for telling me the Nioh series was a "shitty weeb version of Darksouls"
no one says this. If you wanted a nioh thread you could've just made one.
Considering all the N1 weapons + Dual axes and Switchglaive (scythe/naginata/bloodborne saw cleaver) are in, and you still have 2 slots each for melee and ranged, yeah pretty sure 3kat still exists.
The souls comparisons are where the complaints all stem from: Soulsfags mad that Nioh isn't like souls.
>*ignores stances* wtf why do all weapons within a class have the same moveset
>*never ki pulses* wtf do i run out of stamina so fast
>*never blocks* wtf why is damage so high
>*wears the heaviest armor possible* wtf where are the iframes
>*wears the lightest armor possible* wtf wheres the poise
>*tries to find a ymfah video that says where the things you need for an op build are* wtf is this random loot shit
Nioh is almost nothing like dark souls except on the most surface level possible - the levelling system is mostly the same, but other than that everything that looks similar is different enough that if you approach it with the same attitude you'll have a bad time.
>Fuck you Yas Forums for telling me
>It's another "retard pretends Yas Forums is one person just to have an excuse for making a thread" episode
I hate this one.
>Yas Forums
How do you do fellow crossboarder?
>*tries to find a ymfah video that says where the things you need for an op build are* wtf is this random loot shit
I like ymfah's videos...
Nioh 2 is definitely more about farming and enjoying the game with minmaxing builds and a more cohesive plot whereas Soulsborne are more about just completing the game and possibly sticking around for multiplayer aspects. I never tried to get into Nioh with that same multiplayer focus, though 2 has all those group effect spells that could be fun.
Fuck off, "t" is right next to "/" it's not my fault.
One of the most common complaints I see about Nioh, even from those who like the game, is the mission system and how it should be a large, interconnected world.
I agree it would be cool but how would they even implement that with how the game handles story?
What kinda fuckin ayylmao keyboard are you using?
>game got too grindy
Then get better? This game isn't "Be X level to do Y" like yeah it'll make it minimally easier but if you wanted an easy time why did you even buy the game?
Easy, do like the other souls games and just chuck story out the window
It has way better combat and is way more challenging than Souls but Souls has better level design. Nioh is just a boss rush and the levels are filler. I actually would get excited to beat bosses and progress to new interesting areas in Dark Souls. Also the plot is fucking retarded in Nioh. I do prefer the loot system though.
Someone explain the appeal of "muh interconnected world" to me
Considering how separate each area tends to be, all it ends up meaning is you have short hallways at the start and end (and sometimes around the sides) of each zone
Have you played the original Dark Souls?
>DS2 is the most unique souls game
>Makes changes that force you to approach the game in a different way
>Soulsfags hate it
I think you might be on to something
I've played through all of them (DS1 and 3 once, DS2 3 times), plus Demon's souls and about a couple hours each of Sekiro and Bloodborne.
I don't really get what's so great about an interconnected world. Maybe there are games that handle it well, but it honestly felt like it could be dropped from Souls and nothing would change.
Hes right. I think it shouldnt be a giant interconnected world, I think it should be like demons souls with overarching areas that connect to your hub. Just having a big world where you spend a bunch of time walking is boring without interestinig things to do. Nioh is a dungeon crawler not an mmo.
actually accurate
Someone help me is a heavy build viable in this game? Bout to start.
I much prefer this design to interconnected world, especially when you can replay boss fights at any time.
Very. Keep weight under 60%.
Who else dual hatchet/switchglaive/magic?
Through kami, all builds are viable. Just make sure you get 200 toughness and keep your weight under 70% if possible
Me, but also dex
Can you actually get his outfit?
I prefer sticking to a single weapon so I can abuse the 2nd slot for a set bonus, but I'm really enjoying hatchets + jutsu/magic.
It's been scaled back in difficulty, you're playing a watered down version of a watered down Souls like.
Yeah solo'd the game
Ahem, fuck Nure-Onna
>grabbing intensifies
How bad were the nerfs bros? Is the game ezmode now, or did it not make much of a difference?
Can you abuse sloth and living weapon in this one too? I've been playing the first one recently and these things seem a bit op. It's nice to have the option for some of the gank battles though.
Damn. Guess I can't play as fatass like in DS1 that can poise through everything? Is there any reason to wear heavy armor? Should I just minimize weight to 30% or whatever the lower limit is and stick with that? I only have some experience with the first game.
Somebody broke the Merchant Robe's rigging or something because it's hilarious how jiggly it is, straight outta hentai game.
It's probably possible, if you have around 30-35 stamina. The important thing is getting toughness to 200+
This game is fucking fun. I've played the first 6 levels on separate saves with three different builds - Switchglaive/heavy magic, Pure spear and light armor + tonfa. The enemy variety (at least early on) and the huge levels are great.
Not gonna lie I assumed the character creator wouldn't let you do that much with the chest.
Alright thanks
The Merchant's robe makes your cup size go up by 2 or something on top of the max size in character creator.
Which makes it hilarious that Rule 63 Tokichiro would have massive jugs.
Certain QWERTZ layouts have "/" on shift + 6, which is just above t. Most other QWERTZ layouts have it on shift + 7 which is... maybe kinda close?
Holy shit. That final fight against Otakemaru, with Hideyoshi offering support was fucking kino.
I was fantastic.
>DS2
>(3) times
Explain yourself
ive always been a soulsfan, thought i'd give Nioh 1 a chance again, I'm having a blast. I hope the second one is coming to PC soon. People only compare these games because it has stamina and is le epic difficult
>Dropped from DS1 and nothing would change
I believe it wouldn't change for Nioh, but DS made a perfect interconnected world, made everything exist seamlessly in the same universe and close connected in both distance and lore, something you couldn't quite see from others in the same series for usually lack of concise connection between stages with their distance represented in a simbolic manner.
it was the most repeatable, different builds actually played differently instead of always having the same "roll through attacks and then hit weakspot" gameplay no matter your build, in 1 and 3 the only thing that changed was how long you were locked into your attacks for whereas 2 made pure poise, shield-turtling and rollspam all play differently and be at least viable in their own ways, if not optimal
I'm not sure I follow.
Yeah from master onmyo missions. Random drops as well
I was one of those people complaining about the mission-based structure for the first game (and the bad level design didn't help its case), but this one's won me over. It's nice being able to do co-op missions with anyone who happens to be summoning no matter where they are, instead of parking a sign in front of a boss door and waiting. And it's great to be able to re-fight bosses without starting the whole game over. I would love to be able to re-fight Pontiff Sulyvahn without having to go through fucking Farron's Keep and the Catacombs again.
Yatsu-no-Kami is still carrying my scrub ass like before, so whatever got nerfed can't be too bad if the big boy got out unscathed.
>decide to practice 1kat and brute counter by doing random coop
>phantom counter muscle memory makes me press counter button 20 years to late
>1kat feels so slow compared to switchglaive that its really awkward
>the same but with Brute counter muscle memory
>want to use Feral but it's too foreign
Fug
1kat's a good beginner weapon, but it really doesn't stand out in any way from what I saw. I started with 1kat/glaive, dropped 1kat and took tonfa.
>i need a braindead button mashing weapon that requires no skill
1kat is the most galaxy brain weapon in the game, as evidenced by the fact the world first and only no hit all boss no magic/ninjutsu video was a 1kat Chad.
I don't have PS4.
Is there a Maria skin in Nioh 2? You think we will see her in DLC for Nioh 2? Her story is still unfinished.
In a perfect world

It’s not fair, bros
