There is clearly a space below PS4 in this image for PS3, PS2 and PS1

It sold that much because it had no competition, not on its own merits. Microsoft was more concerned about selling Kinect and TV to people who already had Wiis and TV boxes, and Nintendo relied on gimmicks instead of hardware, but the best gimmick they had was an oversized controller with a screen on it.

>lies. if that thing can read dvds it can read ps2 games
Not necessarily. You'd still have to be able to read important copyright information and rights management data off of the disc, I'd assume. Sure, a PC can rip the games, but playing them without stepping on someone's toes might be an issue.
There's also the infamous blue PS2 games that came on CD. Those would be virtually impossible to play because the PS4 cannot read CDs. That would majorly cripple its ability to emulate the PS2 and PS1 considerably.

>Its the console of everyone.
that's a yikes from me
you know switch is on a collision course to beat it right? It's selling at a faster rate than ps4 ever did. And that's without cowadooty and fifa, the only two reasons why ps4 was sold at all.

Let me pop in my PS1 and 2 discs Sony and you'll have my money. Even if you do it the same as the Bone does it and PS3 did it with PS1 games, providing you don't fuck it up and it actually runs well, my cash is yours.

>They have plenty of excuses after 0 BC on the switch
That people are still complaining about. I think you underestimate just how popular the VC was and how fuck-retarded Nintendo are for not having that up ready to go within the first month.

ooh damn i didnt know the ps4 can't read cds. i dont think it needs to read the rights management things though. if you are hooking it up so that the emulator is running off of the disc, i think it can just ignore the region lock/ copyrights.
the question is, does sony want to do that?
the answer is, no

>console for cucks
You said it.

It's absolutely insane that they wouldn't push so hard for PS1/PS2/PS3 backwards compatibility. PS1 and PS2 at this point should be brainlessly easy and that'd be a HUGE boon to everybody from retailers to Sony's own digital shop. PS3 is harder but there are so many games on the PS3 that are locked to it that people would like to play and backwards compatibility would have been a major selling point.

I wonder what excuse you fags will come up with when the PS5 will sell another 100m

>switch
Who cares about the toy tablet? Why dont you go beg for Persona 5?

>the question is, does sony want to do that?
>the answer is, no
It's a legal grey zone because it's still breaking encryption.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, ponies have been deflecting to Nintendo ever since the PS5 reveal.
